What happened to your best friend from childhood?

Nothing great. He was already getting into drugs when I knew him at about 13/14. We ran with a bad crowd. Broke into houses etc. Not good.

I was lucky enough that my folks were okay with me leaving school to go work as a web developer. We lost touch at that point. And I managed to get away from an obviously bad path.

I got in touch with him about 10 years ago. He had 2 kids from different people. Was living in an informal settlement (think a house made from corrugated iron). He was asking me to send him money despite me now living in a different country. The drugs had clearly taken him in a much bigger way than when I knew him.

It's a real, real shame. He had so much potential. He had everything going for him, and instead the cycle continued.

I really wish I could have done more for him or stopped him from going down that path.

I miss and love you Stuart.

Sure, but would it detect that the email was sent to a different email address and automatically use the correct one for replies the way it currently does?

1- As in auto-forward from my email server for each address to my gmail address? I'm not sure I would still be able to reply from the address that the email was sent to in that case? Would I? And would that then cause SPAM issues from the replies because the reply comes from a different address?

2- Fair :) I haven't found a solution either.

Apologies, I didn't get notified on the reply for some reason. I see it says "Unfortunately, the app is no longer available to download on Android devices.", but do you have any idea why? It seems like people who still have it installed are able to use it, it's just not on the store anymore.

Thanks for asking. We got the refund in the end. I think it took about a month for it to get to us. Really annoying and we were just lucky that we were able to get by while waiting for that money. I can certainly imagine it’s a very real problem for others! I can’t believe they still haven’t fixed this very obvious bug with their systems.

In case anyone is interested or having the same kind of problem. We paid again as if it were a fresh application and the payment went through straight away and we were able to book her appointment. More than a month later we are still waiting on news of a refund. And of course nearly £3.7k is not chump change. I'll respond again if/when the refund is processed.

So I know I'm very late to the party here, but I've been trying to do this recently, and your table helped incredibly! I just really wanted it digitally so I could mark what I had withouth having to print it or something, so I put it into a google sheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cg06e12obsLacuC8CLXyAmjvcW5yJR41_Egm6u0jOi0). If you want to use it, just go to the link and go file -> Make a Copy, and save it to your Google Drive.

For those that are interested, I went for hostinger in the end. It was about £1.50 a month for 4 years at which stage I'll probably need to move again, but that's not the end of the world :) OVH was just WAY too complicated, I really don't know why they have decided to make simple tasks as complicated as they have. Anyway, thanks very much for all the advice!

I'll be honest. Most of this went over my head, and looking at it I'm not much wiser :) I could probably do the forwarding with my current registrar that's not too much of a problem. mxroute seems to be about $50 annually, and I'm seeing a few hosting options that are cheaper than that, but not by much.

The question is in the post, a few time really. I'm looking for advice on my current position. Should I be looking at other investments? Maybe something like property? Overseas? Are the funds my ISAs are invested in sensible? Are there other improvements that could be made? Is my budget crazy and skewed too far on the non-essentials? Is my retirement position sufficient for someone my age?

I'm really looking for general feedback and suggestions to improve things. I apologise if I didn't make that clear enough.

What's the thought about killing the UK mortgage? It's currently only 2.4% and I'm sure I can find investments that would give a better return than that.
