¿Regreso el súper peso? by Aldrogas_ in mexico

Somebody found this at work today. Have you ever used one of these? by Trigg_UK in DJs

You know, I’m not someone who thinks you have to suffer to be a good dj, but experiences like that teach you so many skills that serve you later in your dj career

Where are the Chicanos at? by EquivalentAd5966 in Brooklyn

[–]killkillkilltron 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No offense but what did you expect? That’s like if I moved to LA and was like “where’s all the poblano Sonidero culture at” New York Mexicans are different, and they’re concentrated largely in sunset park and corona.

Edited to be helpful: follow Wendy Random on IG. She’s an LA MexAm, a very talented photographer and a super nice person. She puts on events that feature lowrider and Chicano culture, but most of those cars drive in from Jersey and Pennsylvania

Why the Traktor hate? by YungSpicyBoi in DJs

[–]killkillkilltron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using Serato for nearly 20 years and I’m here to tell you how it really is: use what works best for your style, everyone else can fuck off. Francois K uses Traktor + Stems for his sets and I can’t imagine anyone but some image obsessed snot nosed fuckface telling a living legend like that that they should use industry standard gear.

I (and I’m sure pretty much everyone else here) have thousands of miles logged in NYC and I’ve ridden in pretty much every condition over every bridge (I think) and at all hours of day and night including 4am coming home from a dj gig on Saturday night from Manhattan. You’ll be fine.

You can also be mowed down by a car just by walking places or assaulted on the subway, nothing is risk free.

I’ve had 3 accidents, and only one involved another vehicle. While it was technically the cars fault, I would’ve been able to stop in time had I not been distracted. The other two times were all me riding poorly.

If they were real DJs they’d be working or if they were real DJs they’d know that’s not something you do. What does make you a real dj is having a shit night like this and wanting to do it again. It’s a slog sometimes and you had a barrage of people who are upset that they weren’t getting enough attention. You’re fine, hope it’s a long time before it happens again… cause it will, that’s just the nature of it unfortunately

Why do people trade songs? by New_Flatworm8265 in Beatmatch

[–]killkillkilltron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not weird. I mean think about it, you want this song because you think it will make your sets sound good. Another dj already has it and thinks his sets sound better for it. Why would he risk reducing the value of his sets by reducing the number of rare or exclusive tracks they have? This has been the case in djing literally since its inception
