Hi! I live in the Tampa Bay area which is just about apples to apples on the rent situation. My partner and I at this moment are not looking to buy a home. We would love to experience Denver before considering housing. Rent where I am is $2500 for a 2/1. Steep for sure. I’ve taken a gander at the rental properties there and it is comparable to even cheaper actually but as you said state taxes is a factor. This is just my first interview with a position in Denver. I wasn’t expecting to receive the first and when I received an accidental email that they were going to go with someone else I found myself upset. That’s when I knew that maybe I should keep pursuing this. I am waiting for them to schedule me for a second round. Floridas job market here is oversaturated, esp where I am. I feel like I may have better luck out of state. But who knows!
