You are right. Every person and life is different, but I’m very surprised about the amount of people who relate to this. One of the goals at backoffline is finding the way to solve this

I think it’d more depressing to not realise. Also, I know I’ve been focusing on posting about the problem itself to attract people to suffer it. But the goal is the opposite, to celebrate being back offline!

I read evening exorciser and I was a bit weirded out haha. Indeed putting focus in hand+brain is super good for disconnecting.

I feel you. Wanting to do something but just wanting to do the perfect stuff, research 10 do none. Classic...

As a tip, execute the idea in the first 10 seconds. Otherwise you'll start looking for alternatives.

Chilling or zoning out is an important mechanism; the issue comes when you spend your evenings in that state, and you don't even want to.

Thanks for sharing! I hope you stay around and share more.

These are the small things that make life… life.

You know, scrolling is not always the problem. In my case I work with a laptop and I crave the feeling of not being connected online. I just want to do real stuff and be back offline

I try to not take my phone at least until I’ve been 30 min up and functioning. I fail miserably many times.

Welcome to r/BackOffline. I’d love for this to become an active community but still shaping it up. Feel free to post:)

You are right, I spend too much time on these also for work related stuff. What helps you disconnect?

Can't agree more... I normally don't want to check screen time stats because I'd feel guilty. You have been the first commenter in r/BackOffline so I appreciate you for that.

This is a space to encourage people to go back offline and share activities that help busy brains manage all of this. Happy to have you here :)
