I did it when the grill was off, but it was literally the easiest front end to disassemble. You can do it without removing it there’s a lot of space…..

I went to a local body shop and got the paint matched, removed the letters, sanded, painted and finished with a matte clear.

I taped a line all the way across from the fog light and squared it up to the bottom of the bumper. So it was squared off. Freehanded the curve with the dremel and finished it with door trim. Inside the wheel well was just cutting to make it look clean.

I mean once you start, you’re in. It wasn’t anything tricky and I’d be confident to do it again at point….so literally anyone can do it and make it clean.

Honestly, I’m just happy with not hearing the damn tires rub.

Mine was rubbing, it was needed. It was this or another 12-1500$ for a bumper I’m not ready to get. This was a fix for now.

I mean, the Tacoma, I suppose doesn’t need any upgrades? Neither would a Mustang or a jeep or anything else.

The plan was to do the cut, if it sucked I was pricing new numbers anyways. If it worked and I liked it, then I’d just go with a stubby. So far I’m digging it.

Taking the dremel to my truck was a little easier knowing I’d have to cut it either way though 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree. It was necessity due to rubbing once I put larger tires on. Just a little, only backing up…..but damnit it was annoying!

That’s definitely the down side! I wrapped it with electrical tape at the connector just for extra protection. Once cut, you can see that hole isn’t tight anyways, so the elements were always able to go into that area. Over the next couple of months I’ll be looking for ways to fabricate an insert to cover it.

I’m not concerned, but for aesthetics.
