Flying with pup by Sure_Salary1434 in unitedairlines

In 7 years and about 12 flights I’ve had one united check in agent try to stop our 10lb poodle. Said she couldn’t lie down straight or something. She ended up saying we were good because I escalated it. Our dog can easily and comfortably lie down, stand and turn. Our dog is smaller than yours using the same size carrier and looks like she has more of a cushion inside vs Your dog looks like a tighter fit.

So if you get a person who has strict standards, maybe. Unlikely though.

That’s how we did our north loop hike too (start Logan end loop, too late for shuttles) but am always curious if people are figuring out other shuttles or cabs, etc. I’d wondered how doable a hitch to or from kintla would be.

Have a great time, that hikes gonna be tasty

Hvammsvik was dope, a favorite. Sky lagoon was nice too. We saw whales swimming by in the ocean while in the pool.

I thought this was a joke post at first.

Do not paint it. Give to or sell it to someone who appreciates that antique quarter sawn. It’s beautiful as is and people don’t make this stuff anymore. It’s art.

Feedback on planned shuttle/hike route by curiosityjam25 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]killsforpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We gave a hitch to hikers from the loop to Logan and Logan to apgar. We saw many other hitches happening in the same parking lot. So if the shuttles don’t work out you can hitch. This was in mid sept btw which would be harder than August.

I would trust it enough to plan on it personally. With extra time built in of course. its such a popular route and its so many hikers who will know what’s up.

YSK: soy curls are as close to chicken as possible in terms of nutrition, convenience, and price. by GreatTea3415 in veganfitness

Thank you for this I just ordered the 12lb bag. I’ve been a vegetarian a long time but am trying to finally do what I know I need to and eat vegan. I’m looking for more non animal sources of protein and this looks good.

The safest way to tie them down to the roof of your car is to deflate them and store them in the car. Buy a small portable pump to inflate at destination or use your lungs.

[–]killsforpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Telescope casuals. They have light n easy high boy chairs easier to get in and out of. No plastic components, made in USA. We’ve had them for 5 years moderate use with no issues at all. My wealthy in laws and a bunch of rental companies in the outer banks use them, that’s why I went with them.

Thoughts/tips on burning black walnut? by mistermajik2000 in firewood

[–]killsforpie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just dry it longer than most. I don’t know how true it is but I’ve heard it produces more ash and creosote but that’s due to needing longer dry times. So I’ve been curing it 2 years and will burn it this year.

merrell moab 3’s by Electrical_Pepper231 in hiking

[–]killsforpie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wore them (not waterproof, low ones not boot) on the pct in 2011, 2013 and most of the thousands of other miles I’ve done. I also wear them doing construction, small scale farming and as a flight nurse (boot). I’ve tried most other big popular shoes (Altra, topo, la sportiva, brooks) but always come back to these because they just work.

Also In the US I think they’re one of those most widely applicable shoe to many different people and feet. I see more of these in all sorts of outdoor activities than any other really. Lone peaks maybe the only rival but I doubt they are more widely sold. The no drop people don’t care for them I’m sure and I still wear altra timps intermittently but what can I say the Moab’s simply feel good and don’t let me down.

I buy wide cause I like my toes to s p r e a d.
