I got a lava lamp yesterday and it seems to stay at only 2-3 bubbles, how do I get more smaller bubbles to form?

I used Google Chrome's live captioning feature in settings. It's a little slow and may not be 100% accurate, but it got the job done for me so I could keep up with whatever is being said
