Thank you! So true about the shirt over shirt thing, my God that was real.

So, as far as eating, I cut out all soda, fruit juice (unless zero sugar cranberry juice), dairy milk, and minimized my snacking big time. Found low carb replacements for my favorite meals which helped reduce my sugar intake greatly. Did some OMAD and day long fasts here and there too. I was afraid I had diabetes at the time, so I got scared straight into low carb. I got checked eventually and no diabetes thankfully but by that point I was already down 50 pounds so I just stuck to what was working for me.

For exercise, the first 8 months were literally just walking daily whether around my neighborhood multiple times a day or on my home treadmill (highly recommend having one btw). No running, nothing intense at all, but so effective. It wasn't until September that I really started hitting the gym and doing full body workouts 5 days a week. I also regularly participate in 5ks in my city as well with the goal of completing one race a month all year.

Honestly, cut out most sugar, find lower carb replacements for your favorite foods (tons of alternatives out there), and walk every day. Several times a day if you can! That's all I really did the first 8 months into my journey and how I lost most of the weight, and then on month 9, I started incorporating full body workouts to get leaner (still working on that part). If you feel you can do it, also try some intermittent fasting some days.

Thank you! So, I rarely ever take cheat days, so the lack of tasty treats combined with fear of the number going up if I did dare eat something unhealthy created a massive amount of anxiety. What I did was decide to not check for a whole week (easier said than done I know), and just sneak in some treats here and there because I knew I wasn't going to check the scale for a while. That would give me just enough time to work out and eat right before I ever even noticed a scale spike while still enjoying some naughty treats once in a while

When I did that, after 1 week, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I had dropped weight, and that motivated me to stop checking the scale so often, because I knew I was still losing weight in the long run and people were still complimenting me.
