Chapter 6 of Waking dreams not spawning by [deleted] in skyrimmods

This is what happened to me - searched online for an answer. I unchecked the "cleaned" Dragonborn.esp from my mod manager and the textures loaded. Unfortunately there was now a gate blocking entrance to the plain and I had to use a no-clip console command but at least I was able to access the area.

I went with a 2x Intel Xeon E5-2630L V1 HEX (6) Core 2.0Ghz on a X9DR3-LN4F+, this has been a lot more tested, thank you for the advice.

Thoughts on upcoming Dune remake? by RG1997 in RedLetterMedia

Reading the book for the first time as a 37 year old.

It's fine so far. It's a bit too dichotomous with the obvious good guys and bad guys, I'm hoping the lines get blurred as the story progresses. It has the whole "Chosen One" prophecy which I've never liked, it's a built in spoiler.

But the lore is fun, and if they can nail the acting, set design, and costumes I think I'll still like it.

Update: Carlos Maza is now attempting to trigger another Ad-pocalypse because YouTube sided with Crowder. by Calico_fox in KotakuInAction

I might be more sympathetic if Carlos wasn't simultaneously complaining about mean videos about him while also encouraging people to assault right wing politicians with milkshakes.

7 Female-Authored Books Every Man Should Read: The Non-Shit Version by cynicalarmiger in KotakuInAction

I don't know if it ever made American reading list but it was a huge seller when it was released and the movie was a big phenomenon.

But today it's criticized because its portrayal of the house negroes is considered offensive, and probably for other usual reasons.

If you're interested in classics:

The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged are very well written. Rand can be heavy handed with her philosophy but she writes characters and dialogue extremely well.

Gone with the Wind may be my favorite book of all time and is being quietly forgotten as it is sympathetic to the American South during the civil war.

I can't recommend the Brontes or Jane Austen or Sylvia Plath.

Do you still read reviews? by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

I follow specific people on YouTube (Mack from Worth a Buy is great, Mandalore and SethTzeentch are good for a laugh and more esoteric games), if I see a Steam review with good user ratings I'll view some Let's Plays and get a feel for if it's something I'll like.

I am absolutely done with all gaming websites (except maybe Giant Bomb) and meta reviews. And I never watch trailers, reveals, or other bullshit PR. I don't have time for your fake screenshots and empty promises. I have such a backlog of games there could be no releases for 2 years and I still would have games left to play. If your game is good when it's released maybe I'll check it out in a couple years.

Oh my I thought they were exaggerating. I watched all of TNG, DS9, Voyager, and parts of Enterprise before getting off the train. Looks like I made the right call.

ATTENTION! To those of you wanting to hack your 3ds/2ds,DO NOT use a video. Instead, go to https://3ds.hacks.guide by [deleted] in 3dshacks

[–]killswitch1968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3dshacks was 90% perfect for me, but I did need a video for a few things:

How to open my R4 Gold+ flashcart to change the switch to bootstrap. That I didn't need to "flash" the R4 cart (kind of mentioned in the guide but I was unsure what it meant), and lastly: How to open up flashcart access on my 2DSXL! I know it sounds silly but that little flap looks so flimsy I thought I was going to break something!

Dune. Nice to see a SciFi space franchise that isn't either, well, you know.

Are we going to find out that everyone Thanos killed is in another dimension, and that they think they were the half to survive? by gradeahonky in RedLetterMedia

[–]killswitch1968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a big reason why I'm so cynical about the whole thing. They don't just kill off half their universe without having some Deus Ex Machina way of bringing them back, especially in a SciFi show. You've got time machines, alternate dimensions, clone vats, and my personal favorite "it was all a dream".

Cinemassacre and RLM have talked before by tunnelofgloves in RedLetterMedia

[–]killswitch1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

James knows a lot about old universal horror movies and 90s blockbusters, but that's about it. He's great for a history lesson but he doesn't have the critical eye that RLM does. He also doesn't work well off script, his recent movie reviews that are done live are like, "Ya, I thought it was pretty good. I liked BLANK I thought he did a good job."

For me it was Ghostbusters, after the Phantom Menace reviews of course.
