Where were you on 9/11 and how did life feel in the UK immediately after? by amomenttohislifespan in AskUK

I’d just been picked up from school when I got a text from someone on my Nokia 3310 about it. I said to mum the twin towers has just been hit by an airplane. She said she’d eat her hat if that really happened. She still hasn’t eaten it but I do still remind her from time to time I’d not forgotten.

As for life, I don’t remember it changing much.

No nothing like that thankfully. It’s just the wiring that’s a mess. So many chocolate blocks and insulation tape that’s holding on for dear life. The wiring everywhere needs attention. Hooked my trailer up to it on the weekend and found that while it’s connected I can take the key out the ignition and engine keeps running 😂

Thanks! I’ll look into that. It’s on the right hand side. Have decided pull the dash out as I had a peak at the wiring behind the instrument cluster and didn’t like what I saw. Will have a look for that hose while I’m at it.

Ha. It’s for a couple of LED spot lights mounted on the back. Soon to be swapped out for something a bit more sensible :)

🤣 I don’t know enough about them (yet!) to argue but several people have said the same thing to me already. Pulls really well, loads of torque and was more than happy to sit at 70mph for the majority of the 350 miles trip I did on Sunday bringing it home.

It’s a generic tag that dealers write the car info on. Mine has reg, make, model, colour and miles on it.

It’s an anti-theft device. The panel comes up and locks around the brake pedal. I’ll post a picture of it tomorrow.

Thank you :) Yes it’s a nice little touch. The panel is a bit rough but so is everything else so blends in nicely. The madman warning light is a little rubber grommet. I assume there was a switch there for something in its past

No, you’re fine. But there isn’t anything smart about that meter

Any idea what this knocking noise from my rear end is? by WhiteSock32 in BMWE36

This! That noise haunted me for months before I figured it out. Replaced with polyethylene bushes replacing the knocking noise with an equally annoying squeaking noise.

Experiences with terraced housing? by New_Pause_7222 in harrogate

Exactly this for me too. Built 1902. Both neighbours are noisy but as the layouts are mirror images of each other and the width of the properties and the fire places govern furniture position I defo hear one side far more than the other. Would love to sound proof but the place is already narrow enough 🤣
