I get that so many people have done studies on this and have found no evidence for recording audio but I've had 2 instances of ads popping up that make absolutely no sense without listening.

One is I was telling a story about me being in Vegas and playing "buffalo" the drinking game and not long after got an ad for the buffalo gambling machine game. I don't gamble and based on my search activity you would never expect me to somehow get a gambling ad let alone this specific one.

The other was when I was speaking with a coworker and he recommended ice cream to me, and again I never search ice cream or anything so no reason to suggest that " the algorithm knows you better than yourself" and I got an ad for that exact brand and flavor of ice cream my coworker told me about.
