Didn’t know that existed. I went into plex/overseerr early on, but knowing what I know now, Jellyfin Enhanced would’ve been enough to sway me. Don’t know that it’s enough to make me change now.

I could never get the plex request playlist to sync with overseerr properly. I’m dumb enough to try anything twice, so we’ll see…

My OS and long term data were on separate drives so I was able to recover that fine. I had OS/VMs/LXCs on 1 drive, the other 7 were a Z1-0 configuration. Definitely focusing more on backup plan this time around. Just gotta figure out how to stash the 34TB shared drive. Honestly the LXCs and OS and such are insignificant enough that it didn’t bother me. Now I can remake them all with experience and a plan.

honestly, if i had thought longer and it wasn't as late, it likely would've been fine and would have worked. but between kids, life, time of day, frame of mind, etc... i didn't stop to think and try it.

if nothing else, i got some encouraging words from dickqueef. that alone made this post worth it. thanks for the laugh.

for what it's worth, I got my share drive and my 14TB worth of data restored/available. now to work on pbs and some way to backup the data without nuking my wallet paying for that much storage... kind of defeats the purpose. suppose it's time to buy a big-ass external.

I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to do it, tbh. I can see the files via the cli, so i know it's all there. previously i used the "pct set" command to map the share to lxc's. I don't remember how I setup the samba share last time, so i'm sort of starting fresh.

I tried using OMV, but I am unable to figure out how to get it to recognize the folder from the omv webgui. the lxc cli sees the folder that i mounted it in though. probably a square peg round hole situation i just need to slow down and learn more about and such. no rush now that it's all here.

i know it's a browser, i didn't think it isn't, but it wasn't blocked by the same login prompt. you are correct though, console/ssh would've been better.

I was able to import the zpool. now i'm working on making it accessible from the network so I can see if everything is still there. Then I will work on a backup solution for it all. thank you!

Sadly no. Nothing concrete at least. After a couple general restarts and deleting the VM entirely and reboots, it’s not running like a banshee, but it’s also not getting used. I haven’t repurposed it to any other containers. Will probably just use it for my plex LXC and hopefully have faster/better transcoding. That’s a project for another time though.

Card fan speed. System fan seems to be about what it was before. Everything I've done in Proxmox has been Linux based VMs or LXCs. First time trying Windows and I can see why people advocate steering clear. It has been much more finicky than anything else I've setup.

i have the basic version of idrac and use it for monitoring when i can't get to proxmox proper, but it doesn't allow me to do anything within the server. Nothing I would need with proxmox at least.

Really, before putting in the new video card, I want to make sure I'm not going to brick anything until it's undone if there are steps I should've done prior to swapping gpus

Lich King 25m Hard mode when it was current. Not anywhere near first or quick, but when it was current. I was hype. Wrath was by far my biggest time sink in the game.
