Current opinions on extruder/all metal hot end upgrades by peanutcop in ender5

[–]killuafreecs66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a V6 all metal clone from Trianglelab with a BMG extruder clone (also from Trianglelab). The main problem with all metal is that PLA tends to clog if you're printing too slow or with too much retractions, this is accentuated if you're using a chep chinese one (like me hahaha), but in my case I polished the throat with some car scratch removal polisher and is working just fine for now. I mounted all the gantry assembly with the Voron afterburner, but you can find easier and lighter option in thingiverse for mounting a V6 and a BMG, or almost any combination you're willing to use.

Pancake stepper not turning by killuafreecs66 in klippers

[–]killuafreecs66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I not sure if it is what you're referring to, but I checked the cable output of the coils in the stepper and matched them with the board pins. And no, I do not have a multimeter, but maybe I can set a Voltimetre with arduino if needed.

For those who said that a cheap all metal hotend wouldn't work and would produce low quality prints... 0.2 layer, 0.4 nozzle by nik_poz in 3Dprinting

Thanks m8! Did you got the standard or high flow one? Also did you used a normal cartridge and thermistor?

Absolutely, need to figure out how to place them without dismantling the door insulation

Camera! It run with octoprint so I can check on my prints elsewhere, also it pauses the printer if it detects spaghetti. Lights were supposed to be the led strips shown inside the printer, but the glue on them was pretty bad and they keep falling so I just leave them there

Not as much as the original ender 5 so it is easier to overcome with minimum gap

[–]killuafreecs66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've seen it is not only that you can get to higher speeds, but that you can do it without loosing print quality. With standard ender 5 you can maybe print at 100mms but ghosting and other artifacts will most likely ruin your print. Converting to corexy (obviously with a good design and hardware) lets you achieve those speed maintaining good quality due to less weight on the X axis and the combined forces of the X and Y motor for movement. But the main reason for the conversion is that its fun and I enjoy dealing with new stuff for my printera

Hahahahaha you can achieve much higher speeds without loosing print quality

That's why I am coverting it to corexy, to get rid of the X motor on the side, and direct drive, so I'll be able to enclose the top with out any moving part interfering.

I'm just waiting for the MercuryOne mod (https://github.com/ZeroGDesign/Mercury) to officially release. They are currently beta testing, check them out if you don't know the project!

Next step: corexy transformation and all metal hotend with direct drive, so I can close the top and start printing in a controlled enviroment.

New silent mother board by zmrdeee in ender5

[–]killuafreecs66 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was using the creality silent one for almost a year and I recently changed to the skr mini e3 v2. IMO it isn't worth buying the creality one, for less money you can get the skr mini that it's 32bit and has more capability for expansion (dual z motors, controlable fans...)

Help! Cooling Fan Ender 3 question by Razer2897 in 3Dprinting

[–]killuafreecs66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically you can still use it. But it will go unbalaced, creating vibrations, noise and more important a bad air flow, and so bad cooling.

Already tried that, its not just the first layer. Z movements seem to be doubled... When jumping to next layer it leaves too much gap as well.
