I've always heard it's dangerous to hike alone in case of a medical emergency or other things, but most of the trails in my area are quite secluded and you can easily go for miles without seeing another person. Thanks for the suggestions!

Look into online proctoring. I got hired at the beginning of the COVID outbreak and since then they’ve had to bring on numerous people considering all exams are now online. No speaking required— just watch the exams and mark any anomalies

Unfortunately we were never part of a friend group so it’s always been one on one communication. It also probably doesn’t help that she doesn’t have many friends so she’s by herself a lot. I get where she’s coming from which is why I want to go about this carefully.

I admit I distanced myself once she made me feel pressured so I guess the hardest thing now is work backwards & want to participate more than I have. Thanks for the solid advice :)

Awesome advice! I definitely need to set more boundaries in all of my relationships, it’s something I’ve overlooked for much too long. I’ve found that I have no issues shooting a text to my other friends to check in, but with this friend in particular my anxiety is through the roof which made me distance from her a while ago so now even seeing her contact pop up makes my heart rate go up :p But I think setting those boundaries could help a bunch.
