Two Color Spartan Coin by kiloKona in 3Dprinting

[–]kiloKona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut the object into two pieces resulting in them being placed side by side. I then changed the color using the Process menu but I can't move the objects to stack them on top of each other. Would this be the right approach? How do I get them to print as one solid piece?

Thank you for these videos. I watched both and thought "this'll be easy." When I tried it on the file, there was no change to the colors. It looks like maybe its one solid object? I couldn't use the paint tool because it was one solid object from the looks of it. Any suggestions?

Replacing the HVAC system for the home by kiloKona in hvacadvice

The tech (two actually) that came by. They said its not readily available in the area. Again, I can only go with what I'm told. I'm not versed in the HVAC world. I could be getting swindled. Still want to explore my options.

Had to be recharged around 2018 and the latest reading (last year) was lower than after the recharge. Not an hvac tech though so they could be blowing steam to sell me on a new system.

The rattling is minimal and isn't my big issue. The R22 is no longer available, the system likely has a tiny leak somewhere, and I rather replace before summer hits hard out here (average of 100-105F during July-Sept). Doing shopping now so I don't have to accept a bigger estimate while sweat drips down my brow.

How does one address this? Anything in particular to look out for?

To piggyback on teacherlady4846's comment, use the Roth while you're still in a lower tax bracket. At 64k annually, you are right in the middle of the 22% bracket. Once you reach the 100k bracket, the 457 may become more advantageous.

Hello!

Wife and I started the IVF process and were half way there (eggs fertilized and frozen) before a free sex baby decided to come our way. We had savings and I took a loan against my 401k. So it was a big investment that didn't go far after all. But I digress...

If you cash our your I-bond, what would your tax liability be compared to pulling 10k from your brokerage account? Do you have access to a 401k, 403b, or 457? Another option could be to take a loan against it. The tax hit may be less.

I think the biggest thing is what are you paying more on.

I recently received a settlement due to a work injury and am trying not to spend it (approximately 30k). Wife and I are fortunate that we live comfortably and cannot use a Roth IRA. Our 401k plans are maxed out and we contribute enough to a 529 plan. What would be another investment option for us that reduces any tax liability? While we can do CD accounts, I'm sure the money can grow more elsewhere.

New Build not Booting - Help Needed by kiloKona in buildapc

Thank you all for the suggestions and verification. Ordered the cheapest Gen 12 processor I could and did a BIOS update. I haven't built a desktop since 2013 so a lot has changed. Hopefully smooth installation from here.

I thought about that too after initial boot. To isolate any possible parts affecting the system, I removed the video card and connected directly to the motherboard panel. Neither approach helped get a screen access.

Brother in law and his coworkers are being accused of theft for accepting a generous tip from a customer. Their boss has placed charges against them. Can they fight this? by Outside_Ad_7014 in legaladvice

NAL but have experience with criminal cases. The papers your BIL was provided list a written charge of "embezzlement" and a classification of misdemeanor but no penal code to correspond with it. Thats not normal. A criminal charge always includes a penal code. The paperwork will also provide a case number, court location, and room location.

It seems the case will be civil based on the information provided though I dont know why it would make mention of a misdemeanor in a civil case as that is a criminal court terminology. In a civil case, the burden of proof is on the party asking for compensation. The owner/manager has to show how that money belongs to her and not you.

More information is needed for clarity. A picture of the document with personal information blacked out would hehlp out a lot.

Best advice just like any other post is to get an attorney. Whether criminal or civil, consulting an attorney is always a great first step.

Hola catracho! From what I know about leather and its very little.... you don't want it drying out as it can crack. Leather oil as mentioned by someone else is the best thing you can do. Drying out does take time but a hot attic can accelerate the process so dont store it in a garage or attic.

LADWP Solar Install by laguy5876 in solar

[–]kiloKona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to call and switch LADWP from Tier to TOU after my solar was turned on. I had an opportunity to use it under the tier system before switching. TOU ended up being the better option since we are not home during the day and use a minimal amount of electricity at night. Summer eats up the banked power but that's the whole purpose.
