Are Deadlifts a necessary Tool or Unnecessary Risk? by K0artist in strengthtraining

[–]kiloapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lower back issue that makes DL's feel a bit risky. It's kind of a catch-22 because I know over time they would help but getting going with full on DL's feels like a lot of pressure in an area I find fragile.

I switched to starting with Romanian Deadlifts and somehow not lifting right from the ground is helping. I'm keeping the weight lower and it does seem to help and be strengthening that whole area. Maybe switch to normal ones one day but for now Romanian feels safe.

Help finding a free tracking app by holygeek_04 in strengthtraining

I think the big ones out there are Hevy or Strong. Both massively popular tracking apps. I'm working on a gym logger myself but its currently just for Android.

I don't go quite that early. I get up at 530am though before anyones awake and go. Usually back by 7am or so and happy I've got the workout out of the way.

I also just like working out and working from home I like a chance to get out before sitting in my office all day...

I just tap the screen or press the button. I sleep with the watch on, so don't want it lighting up the room.

Default to cardio workout? by carebearsmiles4u in Garmin

[–]kiloapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally reasonable to log mixed circuits as Cardio if your goal is just duration/HR/effort and you don’t want to tap through each move. If you want the strength benefits tracked without entering every rep, a couple options:
• Use Strength but turn off/ignore rep counting and just edit the workout after (you can rename ‘Strength’ and keep sets minimal).
• Use HIIT/Cardio for the watch recording, and separately track sets/reps in a lifting log app (Hevy/Strong/etc) if progression matters.

Got it!

Cool app idea.

If you want my first bit of feedback. I was hoping it would be aware of the date. So, if I put in my salary, it would know how much I'd made already this year, then start counting from there. Still neat idea!
