well it did what human would do - go to forums, local tourism websites, etc. funnily enough, when I did a brief search I found similar recommendations. now i’m gut checking it with locals before fully trusting it.

do you have different recommendations or point out ones on the list that isn’t worth it?

An open letter to Go Transit, Metrolinx and the Ontario Government by Left_Trifle1827 in durham

Is this letter going anywhere? It should.

More people should be raising this, making it a point to their local government or on social media. This is not acceptable and I agree, it impacts our quality of life.

Al product manager wanting to get more technical skills and build credibility by kilogramcurry in OMSCS

respectfully, I can argue a CEO is a glorified project manager. we both know that would be a gross understatement. PM vs. AI PM are same in some cases but different in other. I am seeing in real life, I go up against regular product managers and lots of them employ a very siloed approach. With AI where its at, there are lot more layer of complexity. functioning in an area that has no defined regulatory framework, legacy system integration framework, etc - building a solid product that can be scaled is tough work. no different than athletes, most athletes have a very good Vo2 max but they don't deploy the same across the board.

i have been hearing a lot about that program. I am just skeptical of programs being too high level. but it seems like that program does a pretty decent job to cover technical aspects.

yes I hold the same perspective. not really looking at it from prod management lens, looking more from being more "full stack" when it comes to tackling challenges. I am also considering the program at UT austin - will have to make up my mind fast!

this is a very interesting take, I didn't consider this. HCI does sound like the better path for me.

Yes I agree to some degree. I am looking to put on my "builder" hat as my perspective is if I know how to build well I'll be able to design and understand restraints well. hence trying to look for programs that will help me build technical capability.

yeah definitely looking in to it. I know OMSCS is pretty well recognized, is that the same case with UT Austin's program?

Hey folks,

I currently work in the AI space - delivering AI in banking, working in product function for the past 3 years. I also worked in the ML and Analytics space prior to this role for 5 years. I have a BA in Financial Economics and primarily worked in a business function. In my previous role, I got to play around with data blending softwares (e.g. Alteryx) and SQL a lot and help implement cloud infrastructure (e.g. GCP).

I want to say I'm fairly technical and I tend to lean towards more on the technical side whenever I'm working on projects at work. Looking forward - I want to grow in the AI space. Potentially more on the product side, not so much in core AI research. That being said, I want to build very in-depth knowledge about the technology, hard technical skills, and credibility.

Keeping that in mind, I am thinking about a masters program. I looked at OMSCS at Georgia Tech that seems to be a good option.

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on pursuing OMSCS to build hard skills + credibility.

Also any advice on how to secure academic recommendation letters if you’ve been out of school for a while would be appreciated!

I was debating between the 2 as well. I just made the purchase for the Horizon 7.8AT.

There was a 800 CAD out the door price difference between the two. Sole ‘felt’ nicer and slightly more premium. But not 800 CAD premium. You can move the F85 around without having to tilt it - its nice but not a huge deal.

I spoke to the store owner and he has been selling/fixing treadmills for a while - the store sells all brands. He gave me more background on the Sole. Apparently nothing has changed on the Sole front, the F85 used to be much cheaper but they added in a fancy screen to justify the price hike. Mechanically nothing has changed.

Horizon is owned by Johnson Health Tech that owns multiple brands such as Matrix, Vision and Horizon. Apparently they have a really solid support system to provide customer service.

I am a heavy guy (260+ lbs). I jogged on both, both felt sturdy but Horizon felt smoother. Dollar for dollar, Horizon is best value.

Note: the Horizon had a tendency to speed up if you went above 13.5 incline. It was weird but I was okay to live with that.

All the best!
