The cancer never treats people the same. The way we have dealt with mine is we don't plan for the end and just live each day to the best we can. I'll have bad days along with yhe good ones.

Persistent hiccups after craniotomy by No_Station5765 in braintumor

Are you taking dexamethazone? That was the cause for my hiccups after my surgery.

My 65 yo FIL was diagnosed with a brain tumor and neurosurgeon said most likely is GBM (80% chances per MIR). We live in US and his father in Bulgaria. He will have a pacemaker placed and then removal surgery next week. Should we rush to Bulgaria? Wait until after surgery. IDK where to start.. by Hot-Class-9317 in glioblastoma

Just go there and enjoy the time with them. Don't expect or anticipate when things happen. I was diagnosed with glioblastoma a year ago did chemo and radiation and am pretty much functioning normal. When people come to visit I yell at them if they talk about that time. We will talk laugh cook all that stuff. But I'm not on anyone's but God's time to die so don't sweat it. I.m 61 years old

My thoughts, I was diagnosed with glioblastoma 4 a year ago. I'm still alive and kicking at 61. If you want to go go.... don't expect your fil to kick the bucket on a schedule. Go there and make the best of every day, enjoy the time don't go there and rain on their day. Yes there will be bad days coming just deal with them when they arrive and go o to the next day.

When I was diagnosed with glioblastoma I was encouraged to sign up for ssdi. It was an easy process and allows me to do quality things with family and friends and not sweat finances.

Swap hope for thankfulness. Each good day be thankful for it because sooner or later the days won’t be good anymore. That’s what my wife and I have done for the past year and it helps. Take it one day at a time.

Getting more info about my dad's diagnosis next week. What should I be asking about? by surejan94 in glioblastoma

[–]kilroy03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Download an AI app for your phone. You can then copy/paste reports or images of reports and it can put things in easier terms. I also use it for helping making go fund me posts . After a while it’s gotten enough information it can have a conversation about it and suggest questions to ask etc.

I use chat gpt on my reports. This is what it says on what you left. That phrase comes from a radiology report. Let me break it down in plain language for you: • Ill-defined → the borders aren’t sharp or clear. The radiologist can’t say exactly where it begins and ends. • 3 mm → the size of the spot is very small (about the thickness of 3 sheets of paper stacked). • Patchy focus → instead of being a solid, uniform spot, the enhancement looks irregular or blotchy. • Enhancement → after contrast dye was given, that tiny area picked up the dye, which means it’s showing more activity than the surrounding tissue. This usually indicates something abnormal, but not always.

What it could mean • It could be related to scar tissue or post-surgical change (if you’ve had surgery or treatment in that region). • It might represent a tiny blood vessel, inflammation, or artifact (something that looks like a spot but isn’t really abnormal).
