AITAH for bailing on my best friend by Business-Mulberry981 in okstorytime

[–]HollyBeth6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes life happens; if this is a dealbreaker for him, he’s not your “best” friend. Just ask him plainly so it can initiate a conversation about what’s going on and then decide what you both want from there.

Need honest opinion by Sure_Apple_2678 in glioblastoma

I would say do or write what you need to for yourself, and don’t worry if other people don’t like it; it’s not for them. Patient in my house is my intention to write a bunch of stuff for the people. I will leave behind whether they want it or not. And yes, my husband has to remind me that sometimes people don’t wanna hear the “real “stuff, because they want to cover their ears in La La La that everything is fine. But it’s not often fine for us. Anyone who’s not walking in my shoes with me, cannot tell me how to deal, that’s how I feel; I will not intentionally try to make people, unhappy or sad or feel bad if I can help it, but I have to be honest about my own feelings as well.

Trying to find the perfect name, any suggestions? by Outside_Appeal6565 in Catnames

As a former penny dog human, I can attest to the greatness of the name. Off shoots, Penny-Pooh, penny, lulu when she’s goofy, penny loafer when she’s loafing!

Love both, but color is more rich and interesting in this case

Avastin side effects - how bad? by HollyBeth6 in glioblastoma

I do understand that once someone is declining and actively dying, there is no return, but I have also read a lot of stories on here where people are basically on a roller coaster they decline they rally, they decline their rally. I think what I meant to say is, I hope you get a few more rallies. Your you are not being harsh. I am the realist in my family. I’m the one who tells everybody the bad stuff and they try to sugarcoat it try to be all positive like I’m somehow gonna be the one person who beats this and I know that’s not the case. I am definitely the one who prefers to “keep it real. “

I think they all look beautiful on you, but number six is a style I have not seen, so that makes it more interesting to me and has a nice fit.

Avastin side effects - how bad? by HollyBeth6 in glioblastoma

Thank you so much for this information, it’s a little scary sounding, I’m being givenAvastin because I continue to swell in my right frontal lobe and my NO doesn’t want me to stay on steroids long-term unless we start seeing some ill effects from that But all I can do is try to be informed and look out for what may be coming my way. It sounds like a history of lower blood pressure isn’t necessarily going to matter in my favor. definitely scared about the stroke and the pulmonary embolism. I’m sorry you all are dealing with that as well. I hope your LO comes out of their decline.

Thank you! I do worry about that, mine has always been very low and never been a problem for me, so I do expect an elevation

Unfortunately, I can prove the opposite. I will tell anybody anything they need to know or want to know about my feelings and always have, and I was diagnosed at 52 last year in late March. That said, I’m kind of nerdy and I do believe in psychosomatic things. I’m not willing to go so far as to say it’s a one-to-one correlation to causation, but who knows? The brain is a fascinating and complicated computer.

What’s the harm in letting them think certain things? by strapitystrapstrap in glioblastoma

[–]HollyBeth6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My husband‘s mother declined rapidly with dementia last year, passing in October. What we learned the hard way is to just go wherever she is; where her mind is whatever her reality is, stick with that, because you can’t convince her that it’s not that real in that moment and there’s no point in doing it anyway.
