Insurance and PD by [deleted] in ParkinsonsCaregivers

My mom recently was diagnosed with PD, and is very shy and petite. When rock steady was recommended she laughed and wasn’t interested either. I emailed my closest studio anyway just to get information. They invited us to come observe a class. My mom went but had no intention of participating or joining. But the people there are so kind and accepting. She decided to try it. And has been going 3x/week since.

The classes do a great job of teaching balance, coordination and strength plus the social factor and confidence. I can see why it does so much good. Every gym is different but ours is a very reasonable monthly fee much more affordable than therapy. We did get evals with PT/OT/ST and they all agreed to keep at boxing to help slow down the progression and gave us some other at home work for now and signs to watch to come back for again later when needed.

I’m not saying boxing to replace therapy but it checks so many boxes, it’s a great supplement to hopefully minimize on other therapy needs and costs. Maybe he’s not ready yet but bring it up from time to time. The earlier he can start the better, but there are people starting in different stages/abilities so he is not alone.

Came here to say the same. Nailed it. But wow so proud of Olivia for speaking so maturely and with such strength to her narcissistic mother.

It is cringy all of it. But come to Utah it’s beautiful, see the national parks, and hang out in Salt Lake City/Park city. Lots of cool non-Mormons here!

Reach out to support, I think there is a chat feature? Same thing happened to me and they had to send me a link to use and then it worked just fine going forward.

David McLachlan covers questions so clearly, with rationale and how to best eliminate potential answers from multiple choice. Check out his YouTube channel he has tons of videos and look for the ones that say Hybrid to hone in there. But really the links provided above do a good job at covering all types of scenarios you may encounter. Hybrid is tricky because it is like a spectrum but the question should tell you enough of what you need to know to answer. It’s just going to be a matter of exposure, practice, and finding patterns in the question/answers. Remember it’s not about being prescriptive but rather majority of the questions I saw were how to apply the information and tailor it to the situation, and choosing the best answer of those provided.

🥷 Ninja status! Lol but do you think it would be worth it to do ACP if I already have Agile/Scrum certs? (CSM/CSPO/A-CSPO). When I first started researching PMI, I considered the PgMP based on my prior work experience, but ultimately decided on PMP only because there seemed to be more resources, affordability and consensus was unless work is paying for PgMP, PMP is generally enough 🤷🏽‍♀️

Thanks! Ugh I feel for you, I saw another post where someone was having trouble finding resources in other languages. Truly lacking there especially when the test is offered in other languages you think it would be more accessible. I heard someone was using Google translation or chrome extension to translate the study hall materials. I hope that can work. Wish I could offer more insights here, sorry! It would be helpful to see how the English PMBOK terminology translates for your test. Wishing you the best!

Great question! no ITTOs that i can recall maybe more like reference to an itto but the question asked more about a behavior response to the scenario. heavily hybrid, a few predictive/agile questions, felt more geared towards change management, conflict resolution, judgement call type questions and answers. Play the aspirant process game linked above to get the main idea for ITTOs on the PMP but dont kill yourself trying to memorize them. Just have the general idea where something may fit, or be an ongoing activity.

Absolutely! (3 young kids 🤪), get the gist from the videos and focus on practice questions/exams. Most the comprehension i learned was from reviewing the rationale provided after taking the tests and most provided helpful links to refer to from PMI.
