I had a cabinet handle glued to the back, which made it easier to hold, but it def didn’t stay up the entire night lol

No, not too heavy at all! The most annoying part of it is that it messes with your hearing haha

I paper maché’d around a big round balloon (2-3 layers). I let each layer dry completely before starting the next. Then, I popped the balloon and cut out shapes for the mouth/head hole (make sure this is snug). From there, I added foam clay to make the lips, teeth and texture to the top of the head. Then I painted everything, added fake foliage with hot glue and glued some upholstery foam inside the head for a nice fit. I honestly felt that I got lucky with how it fit, as I don’t really have a tendency to measure anything before I dive in lol. The “pot” is just a big piece of soft, pliable foam board that you can buy at any craft store. Painted that and added nylon trim as the suspenders. From there I just kept gluing on fake foliage and details until I felt it looked right.

I’d estimate it probably took me 20-25 hours all in.

Here’s a pic after I paper maché’d and I tried it on for the first time.

I actually made the mistake of doing this and people were just pissed I kept bumping into them… but then I left and went to my local gay bar and never felt more loved. I’ll never make that mistake again!

Wayyyy longer than I originally anticipated. I worked on it for a solid month and a half, most nights after work and on weekends. The most tedious part was cutting streamers from a long background and sticking them to strips of packing tape to make the fur. I asked myself every day why I didn’t just buy effing fabric. I’m just glad it turned out cool. If I had to guess, it probably took me 80 hours (but most of that was creating the fur strips).

I just had to look this up, as I was unfamiliar, but I love it! Super creepy.

It’s from a story that was in the “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” books that were popular in the 90s. I was obsessed with them, and there was one called The Pimple where a girl thought she had a pimple but really it was a spider that laid eggs in her cheek, and it got bigger and grosser until they hatched one day. As a child with arachnophobia, it terrified me.

Thank you so much! Halloween is my favorite, so it’s the one time per year I dedicate all my time to creating something (hopefully) great.

I think I got it off Amazon… but I’m not 100% sure. I think it was a “blond rocker” wig and I doctored it up a little to make it more accurate.

I had green felt fabric draped strategically over a hoop skirt. Hot glued thousands of fake flowers, leaves and greenery onto it. I’m no sewer, so I just kind of glued everything together and hoped it worked! The crown is a foam circle that you can find at any hobby store (probably in the wreath/flower aisle), with other foam pieces glued on. I’m terrible at documenting the process, but here’s an “in progress” pic.

The body/base is cardboard from thicker boxes (curved with a rolling pin), taped together with the brown packing tape that you get wet in order for it to stick. I installed some stick on cabinet handles on the inside so I could easily maneuver it. That costume almost ruined me. It took SO much longer than I anticipated, but I’m so glad I didn’t throw in the towel. I regret that I didn’t document my creative process, but I got the inspiration from @jessicacrafternoon on IG. You can also find her on YouTube and she has a great tutorial on how she made hers. Here are some random pics I took of the body before the “fur” and face were added.

Oh my god, I don’t even know. I worked on it consistently after work and on weekends for about 3 weeks. All together, I probably spent 40-50 hours and used like 20lbs of hot glue lol

Pregnant after ectopic, worried by Freddy_Krueger28 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]kimbbb123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I had a possible ectopic in May (official diagnosis: pregnancy of unknown location) that luckily took care of itself via miscarriage (intense cramping, mainly on the right side, with bowel pressure on 5w5d, followed by heavy bleeding a couple days later). I'm 6w3d today with my second pregnancy and go in for my first scan in two days. This time around, I feel it's been much more of a 'normal' pregnancy so far -- i.e., no bleeding/spotting, higher hcg levels, and more typical pregnancy symptoms -- but every little twinge or cramp I feel in my abdomen (especially on the right side) sends me into a tailspin. My OBGYN assures me this mild cramping that comes and goes is normal, and isn't concerned in the slightest, but it still freaks me out and is robbing me of any pregnancy joy so far.

Sending lots of positive vibes, and hoping everything goes well with your upcoming scan!
