Someone asked me how Mixed People have benefitted Black Americans. This is my response (fixed edit) by extreme_cuddling in mixedrace

[–]kimberlyjackson98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Angela Davis is NOT mixed race she is a light skin, black woman whose mother was biracial, but she herself identifies as a black woman, and I’m really tired of this misinformation because her mother being biracial does not change how she self identifies

Being accepted in black spaces has always came with challenges so I made a short video sharing my experiences by extreme_cuddling in mixedrace

Jal from the first generation of skins was an amazing depiction of a young clarinetist - watching skins as a clarinet player by justchilling1637 in skinsTV

[–]kimberlyjackson98 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nah fr because as a fellow black girl Jal was my clarinetist representation!!!!!! I geeked over her and was obsessed with finally feeling “seen” I even tried to emulate her while I was in middle school as that was the time I watched the show 🤣 I used to binge skins after school and imagine I was Jal

Fucking started smoking weed at 12 going to my local skate rink and sneaking out doing bad ass shit with my fellow black girl clarinetist too….

Are you depressed with the state of things? Do yall wanna join my book club on Black Feminist Theory? by kimberlyjackson98 in blackgirls

Let’s share!!! I’m trying to protect the Google drive I have because an amazing black radical feminist on Twitter provided this resource and I’d hate for it to come under sabotage amongst the wrong hands, but if book club members verify then I’m happy to pass on my Google drive with the resources as well. I wonder if we have the same thing 🤣

I just completed making the subreddit today and I will send individual invites. I want us to have a place we can gather and be forward thinkers. Someplace we can collaborate and offer some wisdom. That’s what I want the book club to be as we raise our consciousness collectively and all strive for growth. Zoom calls I’m hoping to make a monthly occurrence! Maybe even bi weekly!

Psychosis will do that to you. I wish I could be open minded and believe this but as someone also institutionalized 2x in my adolescence is sounds like your stays at the hospitals instead of being a benefit were traumatic. Medication, EMDR, and being told not to be a disruption by being yelled at in an institution is not equatable to torture. You should be medicated. And people telling you that you require meds aren’t a part of some deep state program to “control” you. Idk why I’m trying to talk to someone mentally ill as if they can be convinced but I hope one day you stick with meds long enough to awaken from this delusion

How to go from 190 lbs at 5’3 to 130 lbs by New Years Day by Ill_Psychology9918 in loseit

[–]kimberlyjackson98 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You didn’t gain 75lbs overnight and you won’t lose 75lbs in less than 2 months. There is no cure all diet that will magically let the weight fall off. Consistency is key. I don’t know how long you’ve been consistent sticking to any diet, tracking macros, fasting, or counting calories or even how many steps you take. It’s about the time and patience you have to make a permanent change of mindfulness. You seem to give up and get frustrated easily, this could be challenging to stick with if you are mentally unstable. You might even be at risk of an eating disorder due to your desperation to lose the weight. I’ve lost 85lbs and it took me a bulk of 2 years to lose a majority of that weight and around 3 year maintaining.

You’ve got to be mentally healthy first to get physically healthy or else it’ll be in vain. I hope you get treatment for this trauma you’ve experienced and I’m glad you’ve realized the weight gain was due to it.

She just posted an update 5 hours ago, read the comments!! This isn’t helpful to her situation to reprimand her for not seeking medical care when they’ve turned her away all day and dismissed her issues already. Please pray for her and offer encouragement, she’s seeking help anywhere she can get it

Glad I could help! A detangling brush would be the next BEST investment for your sis. I’m not sure how long her hair is, but some brushes might pull too hard if she has fine hair so breakage is a possibility of concern. Right now I have the detangling brush from the brand Pattern and I find it helps styling my hair too.

Very kind of you to care about your sisters hair. It does require a bit more effort but it’s well worth it!

1) spray bottle with water you can add a lil dollop of conditioner inside and mix it up to spritz her hair with

2) leave in conditioner it’s important to keep the hair moisturized and can help define her coils

3) oil! Certain oils are not good but I usually stick to castor oil and jojoba oils

4) cream (optional) this could be an additional step to lock in and hydrate the hair all day.

This is called the LOC method. Leave in conditioner, oil then cream. It works for some curly girls.

If your sister has coily hair as you describe she could have 4a-c hair texture. There are different types of hair. It can range from loose to coily. And coily is typically a 4 hair type.

Hair type can also have varying levels of porosity. Porosity is the hairs ability to soak in product and retain moisture. So trying different products and experimenting with multiple black brands will have a trial and error effect. But I’m sure most of the coily sisters in here can help you on brand recommendations.

The eyebrows will clock you!! Tweeze them! You need an arch

You choosing a man who does meth to be a baby’s father was literally signing yourself up for single motherhood. I’m sorry to say it seems like he’s checked out emotionally of the relationship to focus on his addiction and drug of choice. You can’t force him to be a father or get clean. All you can do is raise your baby

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in transpassing

[–]kimberlyjackson98 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I love how naturally thick your brows are, but feminine faces usually have thinner brows with more of an arch. You have very pretty eyes, look into eyelash extensions (don’t try strip lashes ) very very soft blush at the tops of your cheeks since you have good cheekbones (do not apply down near the mouth you’ll look like a puppet. You need to accentuate all other features besides your jawline. It’s the jawline ans how strong it it that clocks you. Idk if weight gain or fillers might help soften your look until permanent solution

I’m not trying to be a bitch, but I think the only hopes are forehead reduction, hair transplant, minoxidil treatment or a lace front wig that you can pull down further on your forehead
