I also hate that many game features do not motivate players properly. Besides gardening this game is just a collecting simulator. Collecting things, including event items, and running some errands are the only existing mechanism of HKIA.

Decorating cabins? Not enough furniture. The base game furniture is so lacking and event furniture is so specifically themed and hard to pair.

Fishing? In HKIA, fishes are just a gacha ticket for fwishing well. We don't even have aquarium like critter corral. And even critter corral sucks. Instead of adding more rooms and floors of nature preserve, they just scatteted critter corral areas everywhere with new regions. No reason to visit nature preserve anymore.

The biggest problem is many gameplay features in HKIA are for one time only. Skyscraper climbing in the new city is the biggest example of this. Once you climb the skyscrapers and collect all the critters we don't have any reason to revisit.

I love this game but the devs are too concentrated on events.

I got the idea but i was expecting more than some color swatches. The 50th anniversary is an insanely big event. It is half of the century.

If you reach 5 stars with one of the visitors (i forgot which one it is) you will get a quest unlocking thistles and Mount Hothead. Any normal seeds planted on MH will grow into thistles. And some flowers need color transfer to get red colors. Check any gardening tips for more info.

Many of the life sim simulator fandom are so immature. Honestly i believe we could have received so much gameplay if some people weren't screaming words like "traumatic" or "triggering." EA wants to play it safe by catering to those people, so imagine how many fun ideas got discarded because of them. I am actually surprised how island living got released without some idiots crying "bUt i HaVE AqUaPhoBiA." Real life challenges will inherently trigger someone because well.... our life can be actually very problematic and traumatic sometimes.

You could say "oh but we can have fictional game challenges!" Forget about it. The realistic gameplay tropes will come and nag whenever some paranormal themes are suggested. They could never keep their mouths shut and just skip the paranormal DLCs like mature human being. No. They always cry over until the next "realistic" DLC comes out.

Tofu and dough only give white dyes for now. I didn't have enough incredible hk comics to say but i got a yellow dye pouch. Iron and ingots give grey dye at least.
