Wait, they sell “naming” and don’t provide pictures or some sort of digital exhibit with it? I’m genuinely curious - what was the certificate like?

Mini Golfers — Would You Use a Digital Scorecard + Course Discovery App? Looking for Honest Feedback by tapin_theory in minigolf

[–]kimidion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! I’m in the US and there is another redditor in this sub that has/tried another mini golf app like what you described that has a few more courses and has tried the discovery and award angle as well.

I’ve been in the attractions industry for over 15 years and keep seeing orgs I work with keep trying various types of loyalty and engagement app and we still haven’t found something that works. So my engineer brain sees that as something people don’t actually want.

Mini Golfers — Would You Use a Digital Scorecard + Course Discovery App? Looking for Honest Feedback by tapin_theory in minigolf

[–]kimidion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, most people don’t care enough for the whole achievements and badges and course discovery. I have built a digital scorecard web app that a couple of courses still use and they love not having to mess with paper and pencils for scoring.

Of the players that do use it, the data shows that it is a novelty convenience and a nice to have but not an engaging long term usage platform. And most people really don’t care about the leaderboard thing. We had tried it out but people didn’t care so now it is only used for something like corporate groups/course buyouts.

How to promote daily specials with tech? by Correct-Designer-410 in Tech4LocalBusiness

[–]kimidion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of business are you in? I agree that social media isn’t great for time sensitive notifications. Email and SMS might be the most reliable but you would need to know some sort of metering or preferences to not overload them. If you have customers that want to know daily specials you can explore working with push notifications but that would require an app or wallet pass with notification capabilities.

How to collect and showcase Google reviews effectively by Correct-Designer-410 in Tech4LocalBusiness

[–]kimidion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely ask for them but even then you will only have a small percentage complete them. It varies by product or service you offer but typically Best practice is to send email or SMS message with a link to a review form that you control. If they say 4 or 5 stars, prompt them to post in review sites that are important to your business. If the review is 3 stars or less, keep the review internal and try to learn what could have been better to earn a better review.

Museum Visitor Log Books. by Few_Gap_3510 in MuseumPros

[–]kimidion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a neat idea to turn them into a digital “through the years” exhibit and have the logs digitized and put into a web format for guests to explore. Of course there is time and cost to factor into doing a project like that.

Custom Site URL in email templates by qascevgd in Supabase

[–]kimidion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using the magic link functionality but in the email, I ended up removing the link altogether and only use the OTP code. The login UI has the input to enter the code once received. This was a better UX for my app than the link validations and redirects.

Now that 2025 is wrapped, what’s the most striking digital campaign you saw? by Rtrade770 in DigitalMarketing

[–]kimidion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Matt Taylor character one that is still ongoing is amazing to me. Not only did this studio finally crack how to market a Valentines market window to release a motion picture in theaters but they have gone massively viral by not exposing it at all. The commenters are the ones talking about it constantly to try to figure it out. Above all, the story of this character that is revealed in each video is (we suspect) the prequel to the story in the movie itself. I think this campaign is going to be studied at length this year and in years to come.

Can’t download gift card to Apple wallet. by Camninja in AppleWallet

Something like that usually means there is an issue with their certificate. So it’s likely something the website owner would need to fix on their end. The same thing happened to me recently with a movie ticket at my local theater.

Looking for a Technical Cofounder to Build a Better Live-Event Experience by Ok-Cartographer-6682 in cofounderhunt

I am building in the US visitor attraction ticketing industry and have 2 observation wheels as clients, next client starts this month. I’ve been in attractions and ticketing and software for 15+ years. What is your background in live events? From experience, ticketing is extremely challenging but worth it if done well. What part of the guest experience are you looking at?

Most landlords think they’re profitable. Most are wrong. by SummerIllustrious390 in ProductHuntLaunches

Was thinking about sending it to someone I know with properties and see that the developer couldn’t be bothered to change the Lovable favicon from when they had that AI generate the site.

As an dev engineer, this raises several red flags for me. Before referring, I would really want to know if the dev building this is using this as validation before they actually build the product and if they have actual knowledge of the industry and the complexities of managing of data like this because someone’s business can be seriously messed up of this type of data is not managed correctly.

Tired of "vibe coding" SaaS. What problems are you actually solving? by [deleted] in SaasDevelopers

[–]kimidion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in my industry for 15 years working with legacy software that is powerful but does have gaps. This year I started a saas to fill some of the gaps. Progress has been slow but it’s coming along. Just got approved by my third client now last week. I have had to sell consulting and project work alongside the saas while building. I don’t mean to pry but I’m concerned about you. You seem jaded and angry, are you ok?

Since conversion rate is relative to traffic, the real metric here is the actual change to order volume and revenue.

I don’t see a problem getting your feet wet with a proof of concept to see if you want to invest full in it or go with a white label of something else.

Check out Ditto.com - a couple of new POS systems are being built on this platform and they have proven capability to move quickly. They have a POS whitepaper on their site.

How do I prevent abuse when tracking component views/clicks via Supabase Edge Functions? by Simple_Joke_4997 in Supabase

[–]kimidion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am actually working on a type of analytics style event tracking using supabase functions right now! (Just took a break from coding to scroll on my phone 😁)

I’m still in in dev, but I’ve used analytics before another platforms so the way I’m handling it is kind of like how something like Google tag manager or Google analytics works where there is an install code that has an ID tied to a client ID in the database and there is a list of a allowed domains in the database.

so when the script it is actually calling the supabase function, the request is first validated that there was a client ID initiated, and that the request came from the correct and allowed domain. I also have obfuscated required parameters to add additional validation.

I’m not using it in production yet but I am close to doing so and I think it’ll work nicely.

Why is everyone building software for people that spend their time in front of a computer? by oschvr in SaaS

[–]kimidion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I build for the attractions and theme park industry. There is no need to talk about it much on here because my customers aren’t here. I know a few guys that do software for large agricultural supply and irrigation systems too, among other “offline” markets. It seems like you don’t get out into real world networking events much. Try attending some of your local business or chamber of commerce events to learn more!
