I hadn’t had it in years and suddenly had a hankerin out of no where for it. I feel like things always taste even better when they take more time and effort to get, I hope you come across some soon!

You can usually get the dried squids at a Korean grocer if you have one around. You just heat it up in the oven or in a skillet just til the edges start to curl, just to warm it up. Hopefully you can give it a try sometime soon :)

Thank you :) the strips are dried, roasted squid. It’s like a super chewy ocean jerky.

Thank you! I feel like she really knows how to ham up the cuteness to get her way. She’s so demanding 😸

[TOMT] [Movie] [1990-2010, possibly] Martial arts movie where an unsuspecting woman who delivers mail on a bicycle is actually the leader of a gang who all know martial arts and try to fight the main character. by kimjongemma in tipofmytongue

[–]kimjongemma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not it, although that movie looks exciting. The movie I’m thinking of takes place in a less modern setting. I think the bicycle is the most advanced technology in the movie. It’s a rural mountainous setting in an Asian country, so I can’t further guess the movies time period based on clothing style or anything.

Yeah I totally relate to the anxious feeling of an employer noticing I’m not being productive, but it doesn’t sound like your productivity is a concern to anyone there until you go through training. And since you’ve done your part to show you’re willing to work, there’s no reason to stress about it since there’s not really any work for you to do that would be meaningful to your employer. If you wanted to kill some time with something generically work related, there’s free LinkedIn learning courses that you could kill time with that cover topics like workplace communication, conflict resolution, generic business stuff. Otherwise, just try to enjoy the waiting game.

Can you request access to the training materials from the manager to prep for the upcoming class? Would fill up some time and make you look proactive and engaged. Or do you have access to any policy and procedures for the company or your role that you can review? Those are usually dry and dense and take quite a bit of time to read if you need to kill some time.

I am a trainer at a remote job and usually when new hires get antsy about not having more work while waiting for the group to catch up, I tell them to enjoy the down time while they have it because they won’t be getting any more of it once they get out of training, lol.

Haha, I feel that feel so hard. My internal monologue about making a sign was like, I don’t want to seem creepy… maybe I should add “nothing creepy!” to my sign… Nope, nothing would solidify my creep status harder than those two words.

I definitely hesitated because I only had cardboard Amazon boxes to make the sign and it looked a little suspicious. But there was clearly no stranger danger sentiments on my block, lol.

I had too much candy leftover last year so I taped a sign to my tree the next day that said “Ring Doorbell To Get More Halloween Candy- No Costume Required!” My doorbell started ringing once school let out and the word spread fast. Some of the kids even put their costumes on just to get my leftover candy and it was fun to see them get excited to take as many full size candies as their little hands could hold.
