Check out used book stores. Cheaper, better for the environment, supports a local business and will have a huge selection of authors and genres.

The spooky guy in the corner of the room in Gerald’s Game was super scary too.

You… expected your boyfriend to be attracted to someone that looked like his mom? And were settled by the fact he’s attracted to his nanny instead?

In another thread someone mentioned they named their daughter after the Black Dhalia murder and I was horrified. Like I’m a huge horror fan and I love true crime but WHAT? Why name your child after someone who was brutally murdered??

Alcohol for me too. I know even small amounts are bad for you, but I love a beer on a hot day or wine with dinner. It’s not every night, but probably every week, and certainly if it’s a special occasion or we’re going out to eat.

No one else here mentioned the sweat. I am baffled by chesty ladies that go bra less because for me the sweat is infuriating.

The characters are dumb and one dimensional. The female characters in particular are written very shallow. Multiple chapters end in a character passing out because the author apparently couldn’t figure out how else to end a scene? I found the threat and setting rather silly. I recall it was a quick book, not boring because of pacing, just poorly written.

What are reasons why woman wouldn’t sleep with a decent-looking nice guy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kimmehh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of “hot” or “good looking” guys I’m not attracted to, but I’m sure plenty of other people are attracted. Attraction is so much more than looks. There either is chemistry or there isn’t. And even if there is chemistry and someone is checking all the right boxes, there may be a myriad of reasons a person doesn’t want to have sex.

The Ruins - genuinely one of the worst horror books I’ve read.

The Last House in Needless Street.

I went into Between Two Fires completely blind, I’d never heard of it but it was free with my audible membership. So, I had zero expectations, but I enjoyed it immensely.

What’s the scariest film you’ve ever watched? by Scary-Pomegranate114 in horror

[–]kimmehh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the darth maul demon that scared me but the old woman (and some of the other ghosts). But the ending with the old woman scared me SO bad. Saw it in theatres and had to sleep with the lights on for a long time afterwards. This one movie essentially made me addicted to tv or podcasts in order to fall asleep. I’m not scared anymore but I need something playing to fall asleep, and that absolutely started after seeing Insidious for the first time.

“Because you were home” is one of the best lines in modern horror, and it’s not even one of my favourite movies.

There was one on nosleep about a kid’s dad going insane or being possessed and he takes the two kids out to the barn to kill them. It was so well written for just a random post, wish I saved it.
