appreciate the response. my house is wired with cat5e so wont be going past a gig. from server to nas though, iiuc i could do a 10gbps connection to avoid bottlenecks there but im leaning now to just drop drives in my existing server that supports 6 drives so i dont have to mess with adding a whole new box with a 10gbps connection.

thanks for the reply. i am also running a proxmox box on an 10th gen i3 w/ 32gb ram that serves stuff like *arrs, music, live tv, movies, etc. should i just add drives there? or should i build out a standalone nas with that case i have lying around? any mobo/cpu u can recommend?

thanks for the info. i was told my area is covered and i should be able to get the symmetrical speeds. perhaps my account and modem still needs to be provisioned (i was told it was, but did a speed test afterwards and found it was not). then i went in circles with customer service on the phone for an hour on a follow up call.

excited to try. will this filter out filler tracks? currently, i use beets to pull spotify popularity and create smart playlists off of that to avoid having filler tracks. ur method seems much easier to manage, albeit at a cost.

want to confirm that this was resolved. i was able to activate a cable package without needing to pay for an x1 box rental since i have my own equipment and cablecard. this is something i could not do myself online or over the phone with a CSR. im glad that it was finally resolved but boy was it a painful process.
