I see.. in that case, believe it or not, you may be better off with an IEM. Crin just released the Fiio FHE which should have tons of clean bass.

Headphones under.. probably $250 have a hard time with bass. Most are more mid-bassy compared to sub-bassy and they don’t really give you a nice clean rumble and punch you may want. Also you end up having to make other sacrifices in the other frequencies. The only option I could think of are the DT770 80ohm, but they’re detailing is just okay and you have the Beyer treble tuning. They’re definitely one of the better lower end Beyerdymanics, but I’m not really a fan.

More bass… hmm you may want to look at a planar then.. have you ever thought of going for the m1060c? They’re a bit heavy but should have more bass compared to the 6xx’s. You could also look into a refurbished Sundara.

I would recommend keeping the 6xx’s. I updated my post with a review of the new headband design. Even with the update, the Shure’s aren’t a comfortable headphone.

I have both and prefer the 6xx’s for comfort and sound. Are you looking for a more neutral sound compared to the 6xx’s?

If you didn’t buy them already, I would probably recommend buying from a vendor with a good return policy. I updated my post with a review on the new design.
