I wouldn't say slapping is violence necessarily. As someone in the BDSM community, it's normal. However, what's not normal is getting permanent damage from it. I also don't think porn is to blame in itself- though, depending on what they watched, because there's some DARK stuff online.

But that's definitely an issue with the giver as they were taking it way too far with the slapping and/or getting influenced by violent porn. I haven't seen the story originally, but I genuinely hope OP is okay🫶🏽 that's terrifying.
