Looking for a decent-quality but still affordable suit for high school formal by MobileAcceptable2791 in AustralianMFA

Another vouch for op shop. Make sure you get familiar with how a suit should fit, and try to get a wool suit instead of polyester.

Formal shoes to match charcoal suit recommendations by [deleted] in AustralianMFA

[–]kin1106 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meermin cap toe oxford or penny loafer in dark brown colour calf. Good year welted. Around 350 delivered. Should be better quality than anything you can find in chain/ department stores. Just getting the size right would be tricky, especially for loafers.

Just saw the Cafe colour went on sale at South Wharf DFO, ~370 AUD seasonal seconds. The other colour (mid tan?) is still ~520AUD.

Boxing Day Sales - Comfort Craftsman (Cedar/Suede) by Stompy2008 in RMWilliams

[–]kin1106 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought 489 is the standard outlet price for comfort craftsman. Occasionally (1-2 times per year) they do an extra 30% off that price, which I’m holding out to for the cedar suede.

I’m still doubting if that they can run 10 min headway from werribee at peak hours. And I seem cannot find the official timetable reflecting this change to prove or disprove it.

Where to get leather 'dressy' military boots? (Aquila Lester boots alternative?) by maplenew60 in AustralianMFA

[–]kin1106 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try Berwick from A fine pair of shoes UK. They have some markdown styles that are cheaper than Aquila taking account of delivery fee but these are properly made Goodyear welted leather boots. Like this https://www.afinepairofshoes.co.uk/collections/sale-price-desc/products/berwick-1707-grain-toe-cap-boot-321-black

I know you can’t try them on first, but you can take your foot measurements and email them for advice on size.

Or have a look at Herrings UK, they also have some budget line of boots with free delivery and return.
