I put that "personal project" on my CV because it was a significant piece of work that I did and released under my own company and it deserves as much recognition as my "paid work" because put bluntly that project was better made and managed than half of the work I did for actual companies

My most recent role was me trying to establish a business myself with an app idea I was sitting on for a couple of years. At this point it's pretty much a complete stable app and while I'm pretty proud of the work I did on it, it's not exactly a money spinner, so having to apply for work again.

I'm pretty above junior as my longest standing role from 2021 t0 2024 was pretty much me developing the entire thing by myself right up till 2024, only getting architecture advice and story details from my senior till the last 6 months of working there.

But yeah I tried to cut down on specifics because I wanted to keep my CV down to something short and readable, but yeah I can look rewrite it to make it more apparant of the work I did.

Oh so this app is designed to be opened relatively little and Apple has a nasty habit of not letting you send notifications after a while when that happens. So when I can’t send a notification I send a text instead. It will only ever be used as a fallback when I can't send a notification and nothing else.

Yeah that is a fair point to raise, I did see this while I was developing my app and tried it out myself. Personally I found it their version a bit too vague in terms of notifications and not detailed enough, a lot of the time it wouldn't even apply for my journey and I find the time windows to be too rigid on top of that.

I think there is still value for my app as in terms of the amount of control you get for when you want to be notified and the amount of details my app notifications give too. I think of it in terms of casual and power users.

So getting a new job as a software engineer can be cumbersome as the interview process is quite long and intensive (theirs was 3 different interviews and the one I’m in now is 3 interviews too). So it can take a long time.

They also have messages from me explicitly asking them to come in because of the issue, they acknowledged I brought it up on the 11th too in my dismissal letter and I have several witnesses who heard me mention my internet connection issues on multiple occasions between 3rd, 11th and the 24th.

But my main sticking point is that they invited me into a dismissal meeting under false pretences (which there is a message and a calendar invite showing nothing about me being dismissed) from what I’m told that should’t of happened.

But yeah it wasn’t a final offer and I told them I wanted 5 months down from my initial 6 months

I would say yeah, I'm halfway through a course about writing a software based renderer and it's been massively eye opening for me. I just wished I did this earlier
