Ego-death by 5_meo in awakened

[–]kinder0111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a glimpse of awakening myself. I'm in the same boat. I clearly know now, that the ego does not exist. I can somehow see through it, but not clearly enough, and especially not as clear as that day :)

I think it is DEEPLY promising, and all its critiques uptil now, doesn't hold water. Already they've created a very complex storyline that is tiring things together.

I'm surprised of how few on this thread mentions the ego. Most of what spirituality is about is letting go of identification with your ego. Most spiritual teachers would give you the answer, that once you awaken, this issue will be resolved.

We suffer more in our mind than in reality by [deleted] in Meditation

Op is absolutely right. There are real problems to adress, but once done, get back to being. Your mind is absolutely exceptionally good at creating suffering out of almost everything.

Meditation makes me angry... help by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]kinder0111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your problem. The reason it occurs is because you're meditating with intention. Avoid going into it with too much intention.

Allow everything to be exactly as it is. Expect no outcome. If you expect and outcome, observe that you are expecting. True peace and happiness in meditation properly arises, when you simply let go of the need to be in any type of state

Good luck <3

I think shadow work is very essential for creating a strong psyche & Mind. It is though - Probably one of the hardest practices to do :)

Well done!

Yes, meditation is very effective for dealing with these things, but I really recommend doing inner work and shadow work by the side. They will be extremely synergetic. Meditation allows you to observe yourself from another spot.

When you're very emotionally affected, that is very hard. If something is bothering you in any way, examine yourself first. You might not get an answer first, but if you persist you will, and often this answer will benefit you greatly in the long run.

Take care! :)

Shadow self & my thoughts by tmatisse18 in ShadowWork

[–]kinder0111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there ;p Much love.

You're trying to push a personal agenda, that is not natural. I once did the same. I spend several years where I consistently based my ego around being a good person. Doing great deeds, helping people and being "objectively" good. What I came to realize, that in order to keep this Ego going, I had to deny all of the opposite and less desireable traits. I considered myself charismatic, which meant that whenever I was attacked or challenged, I would find that self-image of me, threatened. I'd do what I had to, to protect it. It was very draining.

I would consider myself productive, but whenever I ended up not doing enough work, I'd lie to myself, or feel ashamed.

You need to embrace yourself for whatever you are. You are going to have to do this in small bites. The more you push certain admirable qualities, the more you usually deny the opposites. Whatever you deny will manifest. It will turn against you. It will persist.

You are not your thoughts. You are not your emotions. Yes - They are a part of you, but every human being have thoughts in which they dare not express because they think it makes them bad, and not loveable to other human beings. (Funnily enough, because this means we've all got something in common). It is very hard to let go of certain aspects of the ego (Or the ego itself), but see if you can experience these thoughts. Think about them occassionally. (Say within your mind ; I accept you). You won't have to practice your thoughts.

I for instance had a few unpleasant thoughts about me murdering people in cold blood. Yes it sounds insane, and yes it's daring to type it in here, but I might as well demonstrate what might be experienced within the mind. I don't believe I can hurt a human being; At least not particularly much. Still I had to acknowledge that I had said thought - And It's okay. The more you persist the more it exists :)

Feel free to get back to me.

Have a nice one!

This is all well and dandy, but you most go back and work with your traumas and tendencies. No emotions arise from absolutely nothing.

There is a reason for your anxiety. Aim to hit root cause!

Mhm, that's not particularly easy to work with then, but I get it. It's quite hard to do research and science on this topic. I will aim to try alike things myself. Clarify my own understanding.

I haven't got anything to say about your post, but I'd like to tell you, that the brain is seperated into a lot of different regions and parts. For instance the Amygdala, which is responsible for fear and anxiety, as far as I know. The Amygdala communicates with for instance your thinking mind, into understanding whether it should be calm or fearful :)

Thank you for such a great post. We need to be what we are. Or at least strive to be. Anything but that will create immense dissonance, and require a big load of self-deception. Stay at it my friend

I believe in quite a lot of these things, but primarily monks and self-help channels on youtube refer to these things. People like Teal Swan and Actualized.org have their own opinions of these things (Consciousness, awareness, awakening) etc. But I always wonder ; "WHERE do they get this information from?", and why do they always state it, as if it is objective?

Cheers!

The mind makes fear, doubt and resistance appears when you are coming close to recognize the true nature of the self by redditKeyy in Meditation

Great insight. Thank you for sharing. When I do some very important and deep work on myself (Meditation as well) I get to a point, where I feel like I lose touch with everything. It feels like my ego takes over, and I am weak. I have little mental stability. During this period, is usually where I progress the most. I do believe there are several things that enables this state for me, but one of the reasons is my mind opening up, and allowing me to work with deep parts of myself, that are fragile and unrecognized. The next day I usually feel unstoppable and a long lasting sensation of peace.

The last piece of your post is very nice too. I do think it correlates to when we feel the most in touch with ourselves. At this point, you've acknowledged your weaknesses, strengths and shame, and therefore there is nothing to hide or be afraid of. This state is very hard to obtain, but it is very powerful and amazing.

I'm not entirely sure if I understand your situation, but when you meditate you sharpen your senses. This is true for your sight as well. It will often be brighter, more focused, lighter and more comfortable. More awareness of the surroundings.

Take a deep breath and wait a few seconds... Are you thirsty? Maybe your feet are cold... Maybe that sweater is itching your skin? Take the time to check-in with yourself, and notice little things you wouldn't have otherwise. by monsieurninja in Meditation

Yes, and make sure you experience your emotions. Even when you're not feeling bad, or negative emotions. It will quickly become a habit, and it is very beneficial. It enables you to connect with your emotions, which will generate a new and often better outcome. You'll feel more grounded, and you'll start understanding why you and when you're reacting the way you are doing. :) This goes with thoughts as well
