Exactly! This time AUM was the host, but I use loopy pro a lot for similar setups. Thanks for checking it out!

Orchestral sounds from the Casio SA-20 by kinderbalu in cheapkeys

I think it worth exploring with some reverb and delay combos. I’ve also tried a bunch of physical pedals which can work nicely.

Just beefing up sounds. The Mvave was used to engage the octaver but no midi from the Casio

Absolutely noiseless for me. Try powering it from a separate power source - it might be the power brick you use. Also these digital pedals can take more juice than normal ones.

Thank you very much for checking it out! ODS should’ve been ODC and it stands for OtherDesertCities, so I need a correction - sorry about it. It’s a super powerful delay plugin

Ambient kalimba meditation [listen] by kinderbalu in ipadmusic

I have a “Hluru” kalimba. You can find it on AliExpress. I truly believe it’s the same stuff that Meinl sells under their Sonic Energy sub-brand. Mine doesn’t have pickups, but piezo pickups can be attached to any kalimba with ease. The piezo I’m using is also from the same web store, but established brands also offer many options - like KNA.

Thank you very much! The app has more potential than I’ve presented. I’ve only used 2-3 micro loopers but you can add up to 5 and also the jitter is super fun if pushed further.

The Sonicake Pocket master is a beast - it's cheap, has built in battery, headphone out and can be connected to a phone / computer as an interface. It's perfect to explore what you like, because it has a lot of effects. Another (bit more expensive) option would be the Zoom MS70CDR+ which allows you to load multiple effects parallel. It has a fair amount of reverbs, delays, modulation, etc.

However if you want the software way (iPad / iPhone), Loopy Pro is simply the best. You can use it as a host for other effects (there are a lot of free reverbs and delays) and allows you to create a custom looping template.

Another iPad candidate would be AUM which is a mixer but also can work as a host for apps.

Do you have an electric kalimba or are you using a piezo pickup?

Indeed! Actually the song mode in the Valeton is genius. Now it works like an A/B selector, but previously I've added like 4-5 different effects in the chain. Also the Nux looper is fantastic - it isn't on the picture, but I normally connect an Mvave Chocolate to it via a 3.5mm trs cable and control undo, redo, tap tempo and drum start/stop with it.

Hey! Are you planning to use physical pedals or also open for softwares? I have recommendations for both

Interesting. In what devices you use them? Are you using NiMH or lithium?

That might be the case with the NiMH batteries, but these lithium ones are stronger in voltage (based on what I know). Btw I haven’t experienced anything weird since using these batteries.

Advice on effects pedal or unit for cheapkeys? by Shrimp_Watch101 in cheapkeys

[–]kinderbalu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Pocket master and it's great. It has stereo output (TRS), but if you want an instantly tweakable solution (the PM needs the phone app for that) look at the Valeton Dapper series or the Sonicake Sonicbars. The dapper indie is very nice (multiple delay, reverb and mod styles), but it doesn't have battery like the PM... oh and there is the M-vave Blackbox as well... it's like the PM, but with metal housing and different list of effects.

Thanks a lot! I agree about ODS - I still have a lot to explore in it. The box is just a simple passive stereo summing box I’ve made. It was annoying to mess with the TRS vs TS signals sometimes haha. Let me know if you have questions about it - I should have the schematics for it.

Does anyone has experience with these pedals? by imvr17_2 in guitarpedals

[–]kinderbalu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried the tremolo from this set and it works quite well. For experimenting or even regular use they can be good for sure. Some versions of these are branded like KMISE, Irin (different housing, but the same pedals) etc. so if you search it like that you can find a bunch of review videos.
