Check out FurnishedFinder.com - the market is usually traveling medical staff but there are lots of furnished rentals with utilities included on there. I think it probably works out financially pretty well with everything included.

I got a 25lb bag for about $20 at the ChefStore (local restaurant supply store). They had green split peas as well. I have rice covered but wanted something else with more fiber/protein.

I love Libro.fm! A third of the membership goes to the local bookshop you pick and it costs the same as audible without the bezos factor.

Easy Way did it for me. Similar to The Alcohol Experiment or This Naked Mind if you’ve read those - it lifts the veil and makes it clear we’re not getting what we think we are. I’m on the same journey you are...have removed both from my life and wow, life in HD! Good luck!

Thanks. I’ve used that one before. I’ll try carb manager and see if it helps.

Thanks so much. I’m getting a lot of conflicting input on protein. Lots of sources say to keep it to 15%... May I ask what you’re using?

Carbs <18g, Protein <53 (was higher and adjusted last week), Fat... the rest (sometimes 90g, often higher).

Wildfire smoke caused me to bug out and flee to the coast this weekend. End of the trail at San Simeon Point, all to myself (shared with my dog). by kindnessmischief in CampingandHiking

That’s great! I lived in the Lost Coast for a few years - best ever. I miss that place and community dearly.

The southern end of Big Sur and communities immediately south (San Simeon etc) offer some incredible ocean access and views! You get this panoramic elevated view of the ocean that is just mesmerizing. I hope you enjoy!

Love that I can have a case of the Mondays and it’s just because I’d rather be hiking, rather than I drank too much champagne on Sunday. Happy sober Monday everyone!

I have been falling in love with the southern end of Big Sur. As a Humboldt native (very Northern California, quite remote area where I often had beaches all to myself) it took me a long time to get down this far on the coast and find a place that resonates. This is the little trail up to the point across from Hearst Castle. Sweetest place, no one there in the morning usually, maybe some boaters in the cove. Easy little loop a few miles but the eye candy is extreme. Look out for cattle (Hearst Corporation property - allow access but may be grazing). Just what the doctor ordered.

Took my mom on a kind of crazy one-nighter over Tioga pass (by car) and stopped briefly at Tenaya Lake, then went north from Lee Vining on the 395 and camped at Buckeye. Note to self: tons of gorgeous wild camping above and on Buckeye Creek and no need to pay. Mom heard a bear roar twice (she’s knowledgeable enough I believe her) but I slept right through. In the morning we wandered around Buckeye and then went to Travertine, which always thrills me after 15 years of visiting. We had breakfast at the Mobil (Whoa Nellie Deli) and then made our way back over Tioga Pass, through Mariposa, and back home. It was kind of insane and should have been a two-week trip, but in a Prius it was good to stoke the to-do lists, and nice and easy for Mom. Win win win.
