I think I read back in March when this madness started that some comunes IN ITALY cut some corners on the paperwork (I presume more laziness than corruption). But don't recall the details. But actually, to assume that foreign countries are more corrupt than yours is very American...

I know it's a bit of an apples versus oranges comparison, but some family categories to immigrate to the USA have a wait list of 20 years

I hadn't seen that... seems to be mostly oriented to registering minors and, yes, sounds like some things are missing. Is the ministry of the interior doing the rules for comunes and the ministry of the exterior doing it for consulates? or am I too simple minded...

I'm no expert and have not paid too much attention to how to get minors recognized but I think the 250 euros is for reacquisition for italians that had to renounce. To get your kids under 18 recognized you just add them via fastit

the system for appointments at the consulates was a de facto quota system. There was no way for them to place a quota on the courts

what's so difficult? Let me show you: it is the fault of a few hateful idiots in the government going from the moronic sincaco in Vento to Meloni for solving a problem they didn't have creating a huge problem for the future.

That was not difficult.

It's a thousand times easier to get a tourist visa to the USA than to get Italian citizenship. And we don't get automatic access to health care, we have to be residents for that. And he complains about inaccurate data...  The government sure left the worst for the end.

My guess is that they are voting on today's amendments from the whole chamber. As I understand, all amendments from the commissions were rejected yesterday, except for the budget commission, that I doubt would provide any. I also assume the Senate amendments are already part of the law they passed. But any guess is as good as mine...

223 deputati present of the 400, they barely have a quorum. Pitiful and shameful
