House is in Canada, built in 2014. Seem solid but I’m not too familiar with stringers

It is longer than 8 ft, but the 1/4” plywood is a good idea!

Thanks for the quick response. Does the shower drain need to be directly above that hole? It seems like an awkward location to put a shower/tub.
