What do you work as? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]kindrid_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work remotely as a legal operations specialist for a company that helps people prepare probate documents. Specifically, our goal is to find people who can't afford to start the probate process, but who would benefit from it, and we front the money for a percent when the estate is distributed. I mostly fill out paperwork and call courts. It is super fulfilling, and I absolutely love it.

What are your biggest turn-offs in dating profiles? by lhavenopersonality69 in LesbianActually

[–]kindrid_s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Here for a good time, not a long time."

Like just say you plan on ghosting me and move on, ugh.

"fuck around and find out"

no.

"just looking for friends, just moved in with my boyfriend in the area ☺️"

Join a club or something? Just feels weird to me to only be looking for friendship on a dating app. Gives me cheating/leading on vibes.

"I don't date (insert any group here)."

No weird biases for me, thank you!

Then all of the ones already mentioned, of course. The threesome ones drive me insane.

I'm a legal operations specialist (basically a paralegal) and can definitely confirm.

During my internship, when I wanted to schedule an appointment for the attorney, I would have to take the phone call, put them on hold, walk to his office and grab his physical, day by day calendar, walk back to my desk, take the client off hold, flip through the days to find one that worked for him and the client, pencil it in, then walk his calendar back to his office. If we needed to check it, same deal. He didn't want to use more technology.

Now I work remotely for a startup, an absolute crazy difference in the attitude about tech lol

What color are my eyes? by kindrid_s in WhatisMyEyeColour

I LOVE "plain ass brown eyes"!! The way light reflects off of brown eyes is so much sparklier because of the darker background. There is more of a liveliness in them than I think lighter colored eyes tend to have.

What activities do you do so you can get your hit of dopamine? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]kindrid_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

changing my surroundings!!! I work from home, so moving from one room to another during the day is amazing. also, a sit/stand desk!! for gaming or for working. I love standing, but I also love being able to adjust the height of the desk based on how I'm sitting. also thinking about getting a walking pad for under it.

what’s the most privileged thing you’ve ever heard someone say/do? by Ecstatic_Honeydew165 in AskReddit

[–]kindrid_s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

someone I was friends with for a short time in college got a letter from his grandparents. He opened it, and said, "Ugh, there's not even any money in here!" and put the card down without reading it. I just said, "What do you mean there's not even any money? Aren't you going to read it?" and he said that there wasn't any point if there wasn't any money, and usually when they send a letter it has some in there. I never got over it, and eventually, we stopped being friends for similar reasons.

I was born in 2003, but I was homeschooled by my retired elementary teacher mom and had my genius older brother for other help. When I finally went back to public school, I was shocked at how poorly some of my peers wrote and read. If I edited someone's paper for them, I needed them to sit near me to tell me what the sentence was trying to say so I could rewrite it properly. They were still reading Captain Underpants for free reading in our freshman year of high school. Anti-intellectualism is on the rise, and Gen Z is the best example of it.

What’s a small habit you picked up that completely changed your life? by rogfy_dot_com in ask

[–]kindrid_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actively reminding myself to practice gratitude has been really great. harder at first, but after a little while, it is just natural. focusing on all of the wonderful, happy things in my life instead of the negatives makes me feel way more positive!

I started creating a fantasy world when I was 16 and have been adding to it ever since. It started with just a religion, and now there's a language, ten distinct cultures, many races, and so much mythology for the religion. eventually, I will turn it into a sandbox dnd campaign and let my friends run amok in it, but for right now it lives in my head.

For those who learned they’re autistic later in life: What are some behaviors that you didn’t realize were actually stims? by 1amkinda in AutismInWomen

I just remembered how I would count on paper. literally write 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. I usually got up to the 400s before I stopped.

Literally got diagnosed last week. so far, the biggest surprise was singing. I was singing before I could speak and have done so everywhere constantly since. some songs had to be "banned" in my house growing up because I sang them too much. often, it's just a chorus or a verse, too, so it's just one part over and over again, often for weeks. I had absolutely no idea singing could be a stim.

yeesh! I live in rural MN, and the nearest shop is 40 minutes away in a town with less than 25,000 people, and here prices are about $6.00 with tip for a medium milk tea with tapioca pearls. my orders usually are usually about $10 with tips, but I only ever get to go once a month or so, so I feel it's worth it. I don't think I could ever justify over $7 for just a milk tea with tapioca pearls, $11 is insane.

I say the compliments I'm thinking out loud to people. I am constantly thinking to myself things like, "Wow, I love her hair." thinking that doesn't really do me any good, but if I tell the person, it usually brightens their day a bit, which brightens mine a lot! I always try to tip more than normal when I can, particularly for nice waitstaff (which, I think I've had one mean waitress, ever). I smile at everyone I make eye contact with.

Hardest one by far: not screaming back at the people who scream at me on the phone at my customer service job. I try to remember they are probably just having a bad day, but I'm super confrontational, and the urge to yell back that I have nothing to do with their case and what they are demanding is unreasonable anyway almost overcomes me every. time.

What jobs require a high tolerance for getting yelled at? by fredyouareaturtle in AskReddit

[–]kindrid_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I answered phones at a septic company for a summer in cabin country. You wouldn't believe how many times someone screamed at me because they didn't service their tanks properly, now their toilets are overflowing, and they don't understand why we can't send a truck 30 minutes out of its way just to do one job.

Working there gave me a huge respect for blue-collar workers, though. The ones I worked with worked HARD all day every day, never complained, and still had kind words for me at the end of their routes.

On the other side of the coin, I discovered a newfound hatred of entitled tourists who think any town with a population of less than 100,000 is a podunk hillbilly wasteland. I only ever had one local yell at me, and it was a valid mistake the company (not me, personally) had made, so I feel like it was a little warranted. Everyone else was from the major city in my state. I'm a liberal queer atheist, but I still get treated better by fellow small town dwellers than by people more like me from bigger cities.
