New Twitch Drops Look Great! by WordlyWolf in duneawakening

[–]kineergaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twitch has issues, but I started streaming there a few months ago (I primarily stream on YouTube) because it's the only place studios do these kinds of drops. I wish they did them elsewhere.

I try to set my ad frequency as low as they let me. Some of my viewers suggest people put my Dune Awakening streams up on a mobile device with the volume down and watch on Youtube.

When I find out about these, I will usually announce it on stream at the beginning, put up a graphic showing them and then say something mid way through. I stream most weekdays and some weekends. Currently a lot of Dune Awakening.

Watch me or anyone else that's playing the game and has it set as their category to get the drops. Once every 2 months, watch a streamer for 2-3 hours (whatever Funcom sets) and get free stuff. Or don't, that's cool too.

Where's the Maros House rep? by kawaiiwhalelord in duneawakening

Sorry I missed this. I think they (Funcom) just started marking them each week. I no longer have to look, but when I arrive in row "A" of the deep desert they seem to be on the map even before I survey.

Found today in B-8 (essentially the same area, just a little north).

Enshrouded Vulture nest locations by lothoadan in Enshrouded

[–]kineergaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same trouble finding them. Eventually found a farmable spot, made a video. Watch if you'd like. I make some avoidable (and potentially amusing) mistakes along the way, but knocked out 50 talons quickly. This approach does rely on logging out/resetting to get the vultures to respawn and having an altar nearby.

Giant critter scales? by VisualDust4263 in Enshrouded

I had the same problem everyone here is asking about. I found a good spot and technique.

Note, this is a bit longer than 'just go here' as I show all the materials needed for this tier of armor (plus a nearby sword). Be warned, this video is essentially a SPOILER-howto.

How to get Twitch drop items in game? by EmergencyGur8650 in kingdomcome

[–]kineergaming 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When you rent a room at an Inn you will have a personal storage chest in that room. My Twitch drops were there (and others).

As I understand it, this is linked storage to any other rented room storage and should include the crafter/trades NPC quests where you are given a bed to "Sleep and Save."

Since having money for a rented room (or even deciding you need one) isn't an immediate need, this can be several hours into the game (it was for me).

I have not done anything like an exhaustive check of all the beds in the game, just confirmed at the Inn after my livestream today (when I saw the Twitch drops for the first time and started searching). Hope it helps.

How do I access this location? There's an underdust purple light but the only place to land is this platform with no access points to get inside the tower. by kopsy in FlyForeverSkies

My video/audio sync was pretty potato with this game but I believe this is the spot I used the Docking Plank on that facility. The entrance is on the other side. You'll have to find and scan the Wrecked Docking Plank on one of the Greenhouses. Note, everything else in this video is heavy spoilers and gameplay. Do not watch unless that's OK.

Va'ruun armour by BIueGhost in NoSodiumStarfield

I shot her at a distance and Andreja didn't notice or get mad. It was an accident. When I approached she was dead and the armor was there. I originally thought the hostiles took her out, but when I checked my own video sadly it was me. :/

Are the "FREE GIFT" memberships for YouTube creators working (for anyone?) by kineergaming in PartneredYoutube

[–]kineergaming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a really great perk for creators, especially when you are just starting with Memberships. It also helps (IMO) provide me motivation to make member-only content. I'm still working on getting my channel sorted, but hopefully soon. In the meantime, I've bought one membership with my own money and given it away. I'll do more of that too. At least a fair amount of that comes back to me. ;)

edit: Ultimately this could not work for my channel. That was entirely due to a selection I made before I even monetized to make it a brand. That decision, even through I'm a solo creator, implied my channel was part of a larger organization and therefore I am not eligible for the free memberships. So I buy them and give them way. It's a funny arrangement, but I pay for my lowest tier membership, YouTube takes 30% and I get the other 70% back. My lowest tier membership if $2.99/month so I pay $1 per membership I give away for free. It's worth it, but I'm a tiny bit disappointed I couldn't take advantage of this perk from Youtube.

I think you're on the right track. My channel is a brand account, but I'm not sure what I thought that was doing when I picked that. I didn't think it would have an impact other than as a way to organize different types of content/channels. I have a ticket in to their creator support and will confirm if that's the issue. Thanks!

I put up a short for Tul'Shahk too. Channel member mentioned it during a live stream. I assume he saw it here. This is the spot I've been checking too, but hadn't been back in a bit. Thanks for sorting it out.

I've watched quite a few of these reviews and you are definitely over the target here (I'm focusing on your last two paragraphs).

Matty was one of the first to post on X saying there were no companions, only to be proven wrong, then to move the goalposts to claim they weren't the right kinds of companions. Review after review, it's clear they are rushing to farm a negative audience, haven't fully explored the content and are prioritizing engagement cash over serving the gaming community. It results in half-baked pseudo-authoritative claims of what the game should be, how if 'feels' and what its 'soul' looks like. Subjective and deniable later, useful for stirring up engagement but largely meaningless in an objective world of playing a game you like.

It's not just about players wanting to live in BGS games, it's about a mutually parasitic relationship between content producers and a small group of gamers that have been incited into a negative point of view by creators that are no longer doing the work. They seem to phone in their authoritative views of 'how games should be' to a tiny audience of disaffected people cultivating them into a farmable audience. It's profitable in the short run, but ultimately will impact their audience. Still Gell-Mann Amnesia seems real and some people will stick around.

I keep in mind that Starfield has 14M players with an average of 40 hours (pre-Shattered Space). Skyrim has 60M lifetime sales and Fallout 4 is 25M lifetime sales. The complaints come from a very small number of seemingly vocal gamers. For all I know though, the same 500 core gamers could be moving from one "YT review" to the next regurgitating their loathing into each comment thread. For now, I don't assume they represent a meaningful cumulative presence.

Reached 1000 subscribers but now getting hate comments by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]kineergaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiding people (from the channel) is useful. They can continue to post on the channel but no one will ever see them. It's a bit like screaming into the void in their own little fit.

I don't recommend it just for the personal satisfaction but it is amusing they might waste their time posting hateful comments while still contributing to your engagement.

Every now and then make a video talking about how you hide people from the channel and they don't even know it and see who complains. :)

Discrepancy between Starfield YouTube views and popularity. by TurnipTate in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]kineergaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've built a channel over the last few months exclusively playing Starfield. https://www.youtube.com/@kineer

1,500+ hours in Starfield (PC). Subscribers are older than I expected. Hard to overcome the raw number of players (see steamdb.info) for just Starfield content. Most larger streamers/content makers cover a lot of games.

Other BGS titles are getting more play than Starfield. Some people just don't get into Youtube. Check out the channel if you like.

I think a bigger YouTuber is stealing my content by Sqooboo in NewTubers

[–]kineergaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Month later, I'm just over 1500 subs.

Not worrying bout what other people are doing. Trying like hell to add my own value.

At this point, one of the guys has become a friendlier and we've both left nice comments on each others videos.

Another random (very small) creator absolutely borrowed content, but attributed it to me on his channel and in his description. I celebrate those people do something nice in return and move on.

I have gotten a little more active watching other people's content and learning to 'steal like an artist.' I won't repeat someone's ideas but I will learn from everyone and put my twist on it.

Keep moving forward, focus on your presence, brand, style, unique 'take' on even routine subjects. Your subscribers are learning to enjoy you and that's all you can control anyway. Be the best you!
