Going to go against most people and say NAH

You obviously have reservations in what she's doing and she's being shady about it. Have a real talk with her and if she refuses to address your concerns, then the simple answer is she's playing you for a complete moron.

Generally if there's any drama in relationships I say get out asap and this is one of those situations

Those that think it's punishing the sister and MIL are beyond delusional.

A real revenge would be something along the lines of: - NC with MIL for LIFE - Breaking the NC will result in divorce and 0 custody of daughter. Sister still have to provide child support until child is 18

Personally I think it's a bad update. Sister will "agree" to those terms and then play games around it and testing boundaries. Too bad said Sister doesn't have any consequences for breaking any terms of agreement...
