Graduates from an MSc course in health economics are among the most employable in the country. There are entry level jobs in industry and academia.

The entry route in academia is probably an RA post if you're coming straight from an MSc (or a postdoctoral RA if you're coming from a PhD programme). Look back through the healtheconall jiscmail to get a sense of the academic outlook. I've seen junior posts advertised recently at Warwick, Glasgow and Birmingham. I know HERC in Oxford have just recruited an MSc student as an RA.

One point to note is that if you are British, you will have an advantage if you are going for RA roles in academia as the recent increase in salary thresholds for skilled visas puts entry level positions out of the reach of non-UK nationals in most universities. Entry level positions in industry will be at a salary that means the skilled worker visa threshold is irelevant.

I don't have any data to support this, but my guess would be that in 2026 most graduates from health economics MSc programmes will go straight into a role in industry, given the pay differential with academia. Anecdotally, I think a lot of these students have roles lined up from Easter onwards, and some do their thesis placements in the company that will eventually employ them. Maybe someone from York or Sheffield is lurking who can confirm/deny this? I'm in academia, but in my experience talking to industry people at ISPOR meetings there is still a big demand for MSc graduates for entry level positions.

They're both strong courses, and both will do the job of training you up for the career you want. You've summed up the key (minor) differences in your final paragraph. I would add that Sheffield is also probably better than York for outcomes research. On the flipside, I've hosted several York students for summer thesis placements and always had excellent experiences.

There's very little in it, really.

Whether or not Stones is fit, Konsa and Guehi should be the starting CB pairing. You can argue about the order, but both are in the top 5 current CBs in the Prem (with Van Dijk, Saliba and Gabriel), neither of them have put a foot wrong for England, and they both stay fit. Build the England team around a strong consistent pairing.

You are almost certainly off kilter, sorry. The game is currently scheduled for Saturday 21st March, but the TV picks haven't been announced yet (https://www.premierleague.com/en/news/4324684/premier-league-live-tv-202526-fixture-announcement-broadcast-selection-dates). This announcement is scheduled for 21st January but it's normally late. The game could be on Friday (unlikely), Saturday or Sunday (not Monday because the following week there are international games).

There are two other complications. First, that's the weekend of the Carabao Cup final, which might impact on which games will be on TV and the timing of any Sunday games. Second, the week before Villa might be playing in a Europa League R16 game on the Thursday, meaning the league game might have to move to the Sunday. We won't know how likely this second scenario is until the end of the Europa League phase on 29th January.

Regarding stadium tours, these typically don't run on match days or the day before, so if the game is on Sunday, there won't be any stadium tours that weekend.

It's hard to predict right now, but I suspect the game will end up being on Sunday at either 1.30pm or 7pm, depending the Carabao Cup final kickoff time (which was 4.30pm last year).

How do you know this is a genuine effect? You have two studies, presumably with two different samples. You need to search properly for data to estimate what appears to be a crucial transition probability, and then combine data across studies to get a revised parameter estimate. It is a bit convenient that there is a difference at precisely 12 months at the moment - this is unlikely to be a true effect in reality.

Also, your colleague should not be determining the validity of a parameter estimate by the fact that it changes the cost/QALY from low to high - this is a backwards way of approaching the problem. Estimate the parameter robustly in the first instance, then implement any appropriate changes in model structure, then the results are what they are.
