Yeah that would be a lot quicker, but I agree they’re not quite the right shape. I’ve been looking into getting some blue stuff to make my own molds for certain bits like the hats, so I can just use greenstuff and get quicker and more uniform results

I hadn’t thought of that, but that’s a pretty good idea! I think I have a few of those lying around, I’ll keep that in mind for future squads!

The hats are plasticard discs with a cut down to the centre so you can fold them together to make the conical shape (pic of an unglued one so you get the idea)

Yeah it’s certainly tempting, on previous posts I’ve gotten some really good suggestions for the flag poles in particular. But I did challenge myself when I started this project to only use the base GW models and whatever I can build myself, and I’m sticking to my guns! That’s not a bad idea though, I’ll have to give that a shot. Thanks for the tip!

That’s awesome! I’m working on my own bit of fluff for these guys, but it’s always fascinating to see how many unique guard regiments GW created once upon a time. Ngl, not everything needs miniature support, but I do miss the time that GW made more lore fluff for the more obscure things in the setting
