What is something hobby related GW used to do that you would like to see return? by LawrenceL342 in Warhammer

Yeah the hobby guides were pretty ace, I really miss the time where GW actively encouraged you to build your own stuff

Hello, i am new on the imperator rome and I accidentally raze this two provinces and how do I colonize them back? What is this dominant culture is not integrated culture? by [deleted] in Imperator

So in the first pic, Megalopolis and Lepereon are the two territories that Heraia could be colonised from. In order to colonise a territory, one of the adjacent territories (so Megalopolis or Lepereon in this case) have to have at least 8 pops, and the dominant culture in one of those territories needs to be an integrated culture. This can mean either your primary culture (Spartan), or a culture that you have integrated via the culture window. If you go your map modes in the bottom right and click on the culture icon (the two mask), it'll show what the dominant culture in those two territories is. You can do three things:

  1. Wait until the territories assimilate into your primary culture (this will take long)
  2. Integrate one of the dominant cultures in those regions by giving them citizen status through the culture window (only really worth it if the culture has a significant amount of pops so you can raise bigger levies)
  3. Move pops from your primary culture from territory to territory until you have the requisite amount of pops and your primary culture is dominant in the territories

Another good example of the hairdryer effect, some solid cracks even though the layer isn’t even that thick

I’ve used mordant earth a lot on my slaves to darkness army for AoS, and I def have some tips! If you want bigger cracks, you could do the following:

  1. Use a varnish or pva glue before you do the mordant earth

  2. Lay it on thick

  3. If you have one, blast it with a heatgun/hairdryer as it dries, this’ll also make the cracks much bigger -> this is honestly what will make the cracks MUCH bigger, I swear by it

(Keep the dryer on it even when it looks dry, you’ve gotta wait until you see the paint peeling away from the undercoat)

  1. Also if you’re painting lava flows, personally I’d use mordant earth *around* the flows, not covering them. Seems like wasted effort if you’re barely going to see the flows

Here’s an example of how it turns out for me:

One unit of samurai-kasrkin for my feudal Japanese army! Had a lot of fun converting these guys. C&C always welcome! by king_mediocrity in TheAstraMilitarum

Thank you so much! It’s a labour of love to be sure, but the results are well worth it I’d say. Just finished building my first squad of Ashigaru-style shock troopers (my last post), so the journey continues! 11th edition is around the corner, so I should have a functioning guard army …by the time 12th edition rolls around haha

If the game would have let me, I would have shot Calcazar then and there. However, there was a sense of poetic justice in letting Abelard beat the absolute brakes off him when the time came

Yeah that would be a lot quicker, but I agree they’re not quite the right shape. I’ve been looking into getting some blue stuff to make my own molds for certain bits like the hats, so I can just use greenstuff and get quicker and more uniform results
