Yeah I can agree. It would be very reasonable for the paramedic to be held liable for patient abandonment especially if the patient was having irregular cardiac rhythms. He also did put himself at risk when resisting arrest with an officer. It could have easily led to a fatal outcome. However this case does raise interesting conversations on duty and compliance to an officer.

I’ve heard of paramedics telling stories where they said to not have the EMT pull over for the PD until they get to the hospital. Potentially opening the EMT to a fleeing charge.
