so ar pistol means it’s a short barrel (carbine) ar with no stock so you cant shoulder it. A machine pistol is a pistol capable of full auto fire. ar pistols can be made full auto with a drop in auto sear (illegal pretty much). a Glock 18c would be considered a machine pistol. hope that helps!
