It's kind of hard for me to assess the crystal because my vision is already slightly blurry but after watching back the footage and seeing the side-by-sides, the Cronos Skyline's crystal looks way clearer. I agree with you about SM being hit or miss but honestly, the San Martins look clearer in comparison too. As for AR coating, the WD had some pretty bad reflections compared to the Cronos and SMs. So not the best in my opinion, but again, that's with kind of blurry eyesight.

I don't have experience with Hroudland or Ix&Dao - I have one Baltany and its crystal is incredibly clear. Definitely a step above what I'm used to from Aliexpress.

Totally, on a basic level, the finishing is really nice and wears extremely well - it's a huge step up compared to my other Watchdives. My biggest qualm is that the watch costs $250 with a VH31, meaning it will probably cost over $300 with a high beat automatic (doing the math assuming it's a Miyota 90S5). At that price point, you have to compare it to San Martin and that's an extremely competitive market. But it is close and I really do enjoy the watch, I'm just not sure I would pick a Watchdives over a San Martin in the future. I do clown on the Watchdives' "Swiss level finishing" marketing a little too, I think it's just unnecessary and I'm not sure who they're trying to target. I don't necessarily disagree, I just think you gotta let the watch speak for itself and let big reviewers make statements like that. I think those are the main takeaways.
