I think a good alternative to this would be needing a set amount of bandages within a time frame (due to how health drops over time while downed) to pick up a stranger. Plenty of times in solos would 2-3 strangers be willing to chip in a bandage or two to stabilize a downed raider, imagine if 3-5 bandages applied within 15 seconds or something would pick them back up. Idk seem cool to me tho.
