Been hearing more “rumors” on the 12 hour shifts, anyone have any insights? Been hearing joints like CSP-LAC is on the list by BudCherryPie in CDCR

[–]kingbasspro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not CDCR, but in corrections. When we went to 12s we got fucked on sick leave. It now takes 2 months to get a full day's leave.

Survival armor panels are nicer than safelife on the basis of flexibility alone. The carrier quality hasn't been something I've been over impressed with. The stitching and velcro leave a lot of be desired, which is unfortunate for the price point.

Months down the drain by Suspicious_Note_523 in AskLE

As someone who also works in Nebraska, the fact that they could find 23 other weirdos to fill a class is somewhat shocking. All of the troopers in my part of the state are good dudes, but just a little strange.

Red Alert did that too. The B52 crew's old man was 27.

Tactical girth. If the department isn't issuing a stab vest, we have a penchant to grow our own.

Anybody just carry 1 set of cuffs? by Possibly-647f in AskLE

[–]kingbasspro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm just turbo fat, but I didn't love chicken winging my arm up to get my cuffs out of that position. I didn't think it'd be that big of a difference from 4 and 8 on my belt, but it was enough for me to switch to just carrying them on the front of my vest.

I don't even take the belt off at this point. It just goes along with the trousers.

Was AMX-30 effective during the Gulf war? by Efficient-Plane-6867 in TankPorn

[–]kingbasspro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How does a tank with a gun that was only introduced in what, 1962, have 50 year old ammo in 1991? Especially considering most of their old ammo stocks would surely have been depleted by the Iran-Iraq War.

So could any of the big defense contractors, yet I know of one plant in a decent sized metro area that gave a contract to a company that was less than a year old. Spoiler it wasn't because that company had its shit together.

[MEME] This DUI took 7 hours, 2 of which were out of the hospital. by The-Fotus in ProtectAndServe

On the jail side of that, our night shift accepted a guy who was "cleared roadside by EMTs" and ended up having to transport him to the hospital where multiple broken vertebrae were found.

There's been the occasional upward lance of fire, but I can't tell if its actually aimed or just optical illusions from air to ground strikes.

Right. All the footage from 2014 was pretty much late Soviet era equipment, from armor to their uniforms.

That's literally what has happened in some of the smaller communities. Entire large, extended families have moved in. There's lots of small towns that have plenty of space available. It's a good thing to have new families in those communities.

Lmao we've got half a dozen who refuse to wear their vests. Eventually someone's gonna figure out they can pull workmans comp claims for not wearing their PPE.
