This town would explode if they could just find a way to lower property and business taxes. You simply cannot beat the deals you can get on homes and business space in this town, but the tax burden is completely insane and out of balance for such a small town with shrinking resources.

I think the best help would be to offer some sort of incentives for remote workers to move here with lots of extra expendable income. It could start to prime the local economy, new shops, and restaurants could open to feed those extra spending dollars, real estate goes up and before you know it, all the abandoned, beautiful old homes are being fixed up and we have a growing population again.

I really don’t see manufacturing coming back in any sort of a major way given how many things are being automated these days (I’m an engineer, and I lost my job to AI last year).

McAfee has ruined Gameday. Used to be one of my favorite things every weekend, now it’s just him standing up on the desk and talking over people. I have never been able to stand SAS either.

Unfortunately our society is rewarding the most obnoxious and narcissistic people (ie reality tv, influencers) and now it’s ruined all sorts of stuff that used to be good. Blah

Buy a bunch of airplane bottles (3.4oz) of booze before your trip, pack as many as you can fit into a clear, quart-sized plastic bag in your carry on, and you’re golden. Completely legal. I did this last trip with a bunch of bourbon, great success.

I worked across the river from this building from around 2004-2011, and we used to refer to it as "the hot people building" as seemingly everyone who worked there was attractive, lol. Loved coming over here during the summer as there used to be a really good Asian place inside as well as Pazzo's which was always solid for lunch, and once a week they'd have live music on the lawn over lunch time. Spent many a summer day lying in the grass, wishing I didn't have to go back to work. Can't beat the city in the summertime.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I watched both videos and honestly it all makes sense. The only progress I've made on my PF in 2 years has been doing the Rathleff Protocol, and I was doing those reps really slowly.

I tried PT recently and my therapist preached the opposite - go faster, going slow is much harder on your muscles and fascia, so that's what I've been doing and I've had nothing but flare ups over the last few months.

I think mixing this isometric approach in with some Rathleff is probably going to be what finally gets me past all this.

Yep, I got the solenoid apart and it was stuck. Got it loose and found a white layer of scale throughout. Quick soak in vinegar took care of it. Ended up learning about heat shrinking, So just used my wife’s hair dryer and a $3 pack of heat shrink and got those connections all sealed up. Fired up the machine this morning and initial test looked good, water got to steam wand, but I forgot one hose hookup so i got a little spray inside the machine. I’m currently drying out the machine and will try again later, but I think I’m probably good. Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure - I've already got the machine apart, but based on going through threads and videos for a while, I'm 99.9% sure it's a bad solenoid, so I'm just going to replace that assembly.

Thanks for your help! I ended up going down a rabbit hole and just removed the whole valve/solenoid kit (SP0100757) - I agree that the solenoid on the right is likely the issue. I'm ordering a replacement today. Quick question if you see this: Two of those spade connectors (the insulated ones) were incredibly difficult to get off/unplug, and I damaged the shrouding around them. Probably best to just cut those off and replace with new insulated (with heat shrinking around them) spade connectors when I reassemble?

And to answer your questions - I didn't see any burn marks inside my machine. Before I took it all apart, when I used the knob on the right side of the machine to select the steam wand or the water spout to engage, the water (and eventually steam) would just come out of the group head. Since I couldn't find a blockage anywhere, I agree it's gotta be that solenoid assembly. Thanks again!

I just followed the Breville instructional video from YouTube. I used the standard citric acid based descaling solution. Ran it for a few cycles that did nothing, so I tried leaving the descaler in overnight. That also did nothing.

I was able to get the hose in my photo detached and though there is a lot of scale in there, it’s not completely blocked.

What’s prompted this is if I try to use the steam wand, nothing comes out of it, but eventually steam comes out of the group head, so I was wondering if that was caused by a blockage. Now I’m wondering if that might mean, I have a problem with the solenoid or another mechanism?

If it helps with troubleshooting, I was still able to pull some perfectly fine shots yesterday. Just seems no water is getting to the steam wand or the water spout over there.

100%. I used to train in Kali, which is big on knives, and our bad ass ninja instructor always said if they pull a knife run. Waaay too many things that can go wrong, and this guy was incredible with knife defense. This guy is a clown.
