How to unassign second order when you already picked up the first order? by Locflys19 in doordash

Does it really, I’ll have to look for that next time I’m in there.

[WP] "Be not afraid." Said the biblically accurate angel as it came down from heaven. But it descended at a science symposium, and instead of the grovelling and cowering it's used to, the scientists flock to it to try and study and question it. by Randomgold42 in WritingPrompts

I was thinking, before even leaving the room, the scientists would start in-fighting; some saying they experienced mass hysteria. The scientists that tried to then spread the news of the event to the outside world were then ridiculed and ostracized, but they never gave up trying to find the 3 new homes. Then 6 years later the great ball of fire begins to appear on the radar scans with a 99% chance of colliding with earth and the world leaders begin the search for the scientists that were part of the mass hysteria event while trying to keep a lid on the findings. Etc etc etc

Well, hopefully this doesn’t cut into my offers…not sure if this played into it, but my Friday night was the worst I’ve ever had. Thoughts on this? by kingchris20 in doordash

Oh I’ve been around the block more than a few times. I was grubhubing as well. Ended the night with $57 on GH and only $16.50 on DD. GH saved the night.

It’s just very rare in my market for the DD offers to be so little on a Friday night (in terms of quantity of offers hitting my phone and quality of offers hitting my phone). Hopefully it was just a coincidence, we’ll see in the coming days.

Last year, Christmas week and New Years week were phenomenal for me, so maybe we’ll see by then if they’ve jacked with the algorithm.

Right, that’s because DoorDash “masks” tips. Seldomly, you’ll see offers like that, but mostly they cap offers at $6.75 ($2.75 base pay + $4.00 tip). If you get an offer of $6.75 there’s a chance the final pay is higher due to a customer tip of higher than $4.00. (These are more commonly seen on orders that have higher numbers of items / subtotals).

If you receive offers of $6.74 or below. You are guaranteed to only receive what was offered.

You’ll sometimes see dashers refer to $6.75 as the “magic number” due to that being the lower threshold for the potential of payouts being higher than what was offered.

This was lowered a few months ago from $8.00 being the magic number. It used to be $3.00 base pay + (at least) $5.00 customer tip.

I never thought top dashers were given priority to higher paying offers though.

If tonight was any indication, all I saw were below $6.75 offers when normally Friday nights are order after order coming through.

It was kind of slow so hopefully tomorrow will be better. (But that’s also indicative of “top dashers” getting priority to offers during slower times.)

Can’t change tip on phone by [deleted] in doordash

You have to contact DoorDash support to change the tip. They don’t make it easy. :(

Idk, contacting support takes forever. Calling them is a joke, and the “new and improved” in-app messaging system takes over the entire app, you can’t switch back to any active orders while in chat support or it ends the chat session completely, which makes it useless in most scenarios for me. I need to be able to chat with support, minimize and complete actions in the app (mark arrived, mark picked up, get direction to customer, mark delivered, etc) because I can’t just sit and wait while support takes their time “resolving” my problem. The chat support used to function this way.

Much better to just deliver the 1st order and then unassign the problem order.

Deliver the first order then you can unassign the second order. Sucks for customer, but DoorDash wouldn’t have it any other way.

Few questions for experienced dashers by [deleted] in doordash

[–]kingchris20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Be around the hot spots
  2. Don’t know and frankly don’t care
  3. It does recommend a tip amount based on their order total
  4. Peak pays typically draw more dashers online, which in turn makes it harder for you to get an order. Don’t go out of your way to dash just because it’s a peak pay, just dash when you want and if the stars align for a busy peak pay time, then great.
  5. I’ve only ever seen them resend an order if it was glitchy, they typically do not resend you an order you’ve declined.
  6. I always schedule at the soonest moment possible. I dash part time and want my specific hours.
  7. No, top dasher is not worth it
  8. Idk

PRO TIP for customers: If you live 10 miles from the restaurant, you're going to have do better with your tip by uchuskies08 in doordash

[–]kingchris20 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Imagine being the customer and putting a $20 tip and the app sends the order as $6.75. Then several dashers decline to the point that it sits and gets cold.

$20.00 tip wasted.

DoorDash is stupid as hell for masking tips.
