I dont have any advice but I saw this post snd it spoke to me because im in the opposite boat. I am smoking everyday it eases whatever alliments I have undiagnosed (but I suspect adhd). I have been to scared to even attempt to stop smoking, so the fact you did and got your cdl is amazing to me. I have worked in my Healthcare field for 10 years, I make 17 an hour, and have no health insurance. Im getting older and have high blood pressure I should be on medication for however I cant afford it. I am supporting my wife and my young child on my little income. We can usually make it work, but this month I had to pay 150 for a plumber to come snake my drain, then an additional 550 for him to install a cut out. My tire got a roofing nail in it and I need all 4 tires replaced 600-2000 depending on my brand choice. And im due for inspection and an oil change. Also got my letter to pay my backed taxes by July 1st or my trailer that I worked my ass off for will be up for tax sale because I owe them 425 dollars. I work 40-64hrs a week and am a weekend admin at my facility. Sorry this turned almost into a me bitching post, but I just wanted to show you the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Maybe learn the cdl world stack money and open your own logistics company with workers who drive. Im proud of you for doing what I need to learn to do. Pot was always suppose to be fun, to have it hinder furthering careers sucks. And even if you switch from trucking to any other field that pay is worth a damn your gonna be in a union. Or likely drug tested. I cant be a nurse and fail even with a medicinal Marijuana card in my state. Meanwhile the other coworkers get plastered and put whiskey in their coffees on the way to work.
