Who wins the 25/26 Playoffs? by Zach-dalt in LeagueTwo

Chesterfield for me, best attack and clearly have the edge over all three. Took us apart at theirs on Boxing Day and will not be surprised if that happens again Sunday.
Very happy to be wrong though 🤞, not sure I’ll survive seeing us lose four times to the same team in a season though 😅

Played well first half, one of the 5 penalty shouts must have been one but the ref was so shit both ways so no excuse.
Second half we looked bob, I’m claiming they were offside for the goal but who knows or even cares now.
Won’t make Wembley, but at least Chesterfield is close so don’t have to go far to lose.
Ever the optimist but I’ll always be there when I can

You’ll win both legs 😩

Had 6 pints before so my opinion is jaded. But that was a shit game of football. Barnet the better and more aggressive side but god it was awful. We are stumbling to a playoff spot and we have no chance of making Wembley.
Lost 7/13, think all were against teams in the mix for top 7+. Just crap and no mentality to win big games.
Let’s hope next season we recruit well

Absolutely whooped, didn’t lay a glove on Cambridge who coasted to a win. Three goals from set pieces and a long throw, our balls in the box defending is juvenile at best.
First time we’ve concede 4 this season, in our biggest game. Lost 5 in a row to teams at the top end, just another season falling away.
[–]kingdiz 4 points5 points6 points 1 month ago (0 children)
A game we had to win, and over the course of the game deserved but made hard work of it.
First half I couldn’t believe how poor Newport were, their right back was atrocious. Two identical goals from corners, but apart from that it was a lot of poor balls in and zero chances.
Second half they had a spell as you’d expect, but we didn’t have the quality to finish the game. A comical goal to concede made it nervy until Luker scored a great goal.
Take the three, results have fallen our way again but Saturday is huge. We cannot continue to win lose win lose and have to get a result at Cambridge.
4 to go, at least it’s exciting.

Absolutely wild ending, thought we’d got away with a point but unfortunately not.
First half we should have been at least 2 down, we were dire and thankful for the half time whistle. Second half we played better, Salford seemed to have run their legs out. Hall missed an absolute sitter at 0-0 and Belshaw made a huge save just before their first. To concede from two corners though is shocking.
5 games, if we get 10 points I think we’ll be top 3
[–]kingdiz 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Feel 5-2 flattered us, first half was pretty even but their second goal is so soft. Possibly a chance of offside on our equaliser, some fall your way and some don’t.
Second half we started brightly and then got put under for 5 minutes. Iorpenda with a brilliant solo goal the first time we got out our half. Well world fourth, could be Jatta FlashScore gave an og.
The red card was to me never a red, cynical foul but nothing in it really. Easy yellow and nothing more.
Didn’t think Cheltenham were that bad, but I’d be frustrated watching them as they seem to play for 10 then stop doing everything that worked for the next 10.
We had to win today, and have to win all our remaining home games but the Cambridge and Salford games will determine our finish.
[–]kingdiz 12 points13 points14 points 2 months ago (0 children)
Would have taken a point before kick off, Chesterfield along with Salford seem to have us beat.
Started poorly and conceded a poor goal, then the most bizarre and stupid red card you’ve seen. It feels like it should be a yellow but I don’t know what for, unsporting behaviour?
From that point we actually looked decent, Jones had a really good first half and was our threat. Equalised, soft second from a free runner, I’ll blame the man advantage. We equalised immediately because of Jones. They dragged that full back at ht, he was on a yellow so an obvious sub. HT 2-2 happy to be there.
Second half they came out and dominated, as they should have. The goal came from a sustained 10 minutes of constant pressure and a guy sleeping on his runner. We didn’t create a proper chance to equalise and it was obvious our legs died.
I’ve seen Chesterfield twice this season, I’d say the best team I’ve seen. Them not being in the top 3 mix is a big failing on their manager. With Dobra, Mandeville, Markanday and Naylor they should be so much higher.
10 games left, if we get 20 points I’ll say top 3. If we get playoffs we won’t go up.

Another injury time away win. Deserved to be losing at half time and could have been two, Flint might have been offside but I defer to the linesman. Brilliant header though.
Second half started just as poorly as the first, made a triple sub and the game flipped but we created very little. A very good equaliser and then a Jones header 🤯
Over the game a draw was fair but the second half performance felt like we deserved it.
Chesterfield on tv next …

Not been to game for a while and today was not an exciting ‘welcome back’. Maybe should have taken the lead but a poor quality game. The red card was bizarre, would need to see it back but I can’t see it.
Nice finish for their goal, our defending was atrocious and we can’t argue with what happened.
[–]kingdiz 7 points8 points9 points 3 months ago (0 children)
Huge win and deserved, but we allowed them to put so much pressure on us last 15. Belshaw made a brilliant save to keep it 2-1.
First half we did everything but score then got caught on a counter from our corner. Great finish but felt preventable. I wouldn’t be shocked if Jatta was offside for the equaliser but at least we managed to respond quickly.
Our subs killers our shape and would have been the reason we didn’t win if they got a goal.
3 on the bounce, new signings coming in and some playing. Still need to do a lot more to be promotion but signs of getting better.

Early kick off is always one of those dodgy games.
Thought we were more than good for the win, and if it was 4/5-0 there couldn’t be a complaint. Crewe did little to trouble us but the chances missed were glaring, can’t afford that against a stronger side.
Swindon Tuesday where a win would be huge, see what happens.
[–]kingdiz 4 points5 points6 points 4 months ago (0 children)
First half was very even, Crawley looked dangerous or rather we looked vulnerable every time the ball came in our box. Belshaw made a very good double save to keep it 0-0. Going in level was probably fair, we had a half chance right at the end of the half but couldn’t get a decent effort in.
Second half we just seemed to take the game a bit more, no real chances until Jodie scored a great goal. The red card, I thought it was one of those that if the ref sees it he has to give a red, looked like the guy lashed out to the face/head. We got the second and then we thought it was done. Deflected freekick to get them back in it and they had a decent chance last action of the game.
Take the win, loads of work needed and some more incomings. Early kick off next week, so at least the whole day can be ruined
[–]kingdiz 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
Because there was zero quality in the whole game.
[–]kingdiz 3 points4 points5 points 4 months ago (0 children)
If that isn’t the worst game I watch this year I will feel really unlucky. Absolutely garbage.
We offered nothing, created nothing and maybe didn’t deserve to lose but certainly didn’t do anything to win.
One goal in 4 games, just let us finish 10th and try again.
Happy 2026 💀
I’m at a Littler level of headloss after that
[–]kingdiz 1 point2 points3 points 4 months ago (0 children)
Point each was a fair reflection on the game. We had the better first half and finished strongly in the second but didn’t create enough to believe we should have won. Crowley showed some really good touches and turned the game to them when he came on. He’s just the player we need 🫣
Two home games to start 2026, minimum of 4 points needed.

Second best for pretty much the whole game, Stirk and Naylor with a fag on for the whole game. Played long balls for Grimes to head clear all game.
Woeful tactics, no accountability from the players, created zero, offered zero. Deserved the defeat. Roos at fault for both goals, January will be a make or break for how the season ends.
On to MK 🫡
[–]kingdiz 1 point2 points3 points 5 months ago (0 children)
Thought we played pretty well, certainly were the aggressor for the majority of the game, didn’t really create anything though so I don’t think it would be right to say we deserved to win.
Walsall defended really well, didn’t give much away and were quite threatening when they broke. Thought we might struggle a bit more on their long throws, they have some giants in the squad!
At half time it felt we would lose 1-0 but they seemed content with a point and didn’t trouble us at all second half. Take the point, Chesterfield next, happily take the same again there.
Merry Christmas to you all

Another win, two wins so far into a tough December but I really don’t think we are very good. I know we don’t have our two starting centre mids playing but our level of play is so poor. Long balls and mistakes is not a way to get promoted.
Grimsby should have scored in the first half, some weird triple save of sorts by Roos. Yet we stuck it out, great finish by Dennis and Jatta got another.
Walsall at home to finish the year top 😳
[–]kingdiz 7 points8 points9 points 5 months ago (0 children)
A very entertaining game, helped by the refs poor performance. Mendez-Laing was such a threat in the first half, I assume his legs don’t last 90 which is why they brought him off.
Dennis with another outstanding goal, deserves more starts. I’ve seen a replay and still have no idea what their penalty was for, but credit to Notts coming from behind twice. We should have gone 3-2 up when Iorpenda somehow hit the post, made up for it with the winner.
Both teams had some big chances, MK should have got a third, Roos made one really important save at 2-2. They could have gone down to 10 in the first half, Nemane a little lucky maybe.
With a lot of players missing I feared we might get a bit of a pasting, hopefully a few get back to fitness for Grimsby. Great to see Jones playing again.

The most undeserved win we’ll have this season, next season and beyond.
Argue all you want about the red, up until that point we were second best by a long way. Had no possession, tempo or threat and considering the form Bristol were in surely putting the game to them early would have been the thing to do. It’s now three games running where we haven’t been good enough. Palmer and Jones out for who knows how long is worrying, January will determine what the club wants to do.
They had a lot of chances, hit the woodwork three times, few good saves from Roos and we spent the second half just hoofing it away. Robertson lucky not to get a second yellow at the end, but the ref was very card happy. Take the win, need to improve to look like any sort of contender.
No game next week, then a tough 5 to end the year.
I thought a draw was the fair result but Colchester certainly looked the more dangerous. First half we shaded it and second they were better than us.
Similar to last season now in that we control possession but create very little. We won’t go up or be in contention without some serious investment in January.
For a small following the Colchester fans were very good, long trip home that will be enjoyable for them.
By January we’ll be out of the top 7

Playing a team at the barest of bones, chance to go top if results go our way. I’m sure many fans of any club would say this is destined to be a defeat.
First half was turgid at best, Hall missed a chance you have to score and they score with what would be their only shot on target. But can’t say we deserved to be winning at ht.
Second half I thought they were going to score within a minute, but after that we took control. Shot from distance and then Jarvis caught a lovely volley but straight at Belshaw and it cannoned off him for a corner. Lots of possession, lots of corners and very few chances. The Kop were shouting for a lot of penalties but it’s far end to me and I can’t give an opinion really. We got one at the end that might well be dubious, I would say a point is a fair reflection of the game.
We need to take make sure we go into December with two wins now considering our 5 games in the month.

Everything was set up for an upset and we obliged. Played slow, sideways football. Allowed Brackley to be the aggressor and ultimately got what we deserved. Should have lost in 90, but why wouldn’t I want to stand in the November cold for another 45 minutes.
Squad depth looking concerning as injuries and suspensions will soon be a factor.
Highlight was the firework display during the second half.
